New to me 2013 135i Cabrio MSport DCT, Traded my Garage Queen Z3
Swapped my 2000 Z3 2.8 MSport 5 Spd w/ 87k miles for a 2013 135i Convertible MSport + DCT w/ 37k miles. The 135i is black, but hard to be picky on color with hard to find configs, though its black & oyster interior has some class. In addition to MSport + DCT it has Premium pkg, Tech pkg, and Heated Seats.
My kids 1yr & 2yr now would have to wait a long time to ride in the Z3, hence the convertible with a back seat only ideal for little people. Had the Z3 for almost 10yrs and 80k of its miles, it was bullet proof and such a blast to drive. Well the 135i being a sub 5 second car w/ DCT and sport suspension will be close, but nothing to the low road hugging Z3. Wont be doing much until after winter, need to figure out a snow tire setup, would put snows on the stock staggered 18s but so few choices.

Looks great! Welcome to the crew.
I feel you may have a hard time hitting 5 second runs with a 135i though

Why do you say that, wasn't BMWs stated performance for the 135i convertible 5.1 sec which was a little conservative?

Are you talking about 0-60 or drag times? 0-60 totally! Drag times, maybe on a 1/16th mile track lol

Yeah 0-60, 5 sec would be ridiculous for drag time unless your John Force in a funny car.

Awesome car. You can grab a second set of stock staggered 18's on the forums and put a square setup of 225/40/18 all around and it makes for a great snow setup. Tirerack actually has a decent selection of snow tires in that size this year, compared to last year when they only had two options. I went with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 but anything in the performance snow category should be fine.

Enjoy your new 135i convertible! I have really been having fun with my 135i DCT convertible since I got it last summer.
From what I have been reading, my convertible appears to be a Unicorn though. No M or Sport package, no navigation, and 17" tires all around. It is still a lot of fun though! |
