Inlets are a good choice. You can definitely make right around 500 hp/500 tq on e-85, inlets, and FBO. Reliability? Haven't had my car tuned that way. I considered doing exactly this, but decided it was worth it to drop the money on turbos. I went for the pure stage 2's. Reliability has been essentially perfect, and to be honest I think most people here from a quality and reliability standpoint would agree with me that Pure is the way to go for the N54 and N55.
I'm running a rather conservative tune on the setup as I don't really need 600-700 hp (currently around 500/500), which is also some peace of mind knowing nothings constantly being stressed to the point of failure. Summation: to make 500 hp turbos are 100 percent worth it, I think a super aggressive tune to make those figures is just not worth the potential drawbacks. I'm really happy with Pure, but I'm not saying someone else doesn't make something comparable. Write a review when you get your setup. Edit: Just realized that this thread was a couple months old and someone else revived it (whoops). Well... hope your new turbo setup is working how you hoped. A review would still be awesome!
