Comfort access issue... any help?
Hi, hoping one of you guys can help me brainstorm an issue I'm having. Yesterday comfort access stopped working on my 135i. I checked the fuses today and fuse #61 had blown. Went to the auto parts store and grabbed a fuse and replaced it. Well... now my doors and trunk unlock via touch but my car is still asking for the key to be inserted. I checked all the other key function fuses and also the fuses associated with Start Stop (except #85, my car had no fuse in this slot to begin with). Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks!

I had changed the batteries in my key as one of my first trouble shooting points... turns out the NEW battery I inserted must've been weak. I held the key close to the steering column and it started with key battery warning light. So went back inside and got the other battery in my pack of 2 batteries I bought and tried it. Works fine now. Whew!

thats interesting. When your comfort access stopped working, was it in all spots on the car or just one in particular? Mine stopped working on my drivers side front door only. Im thinking maybe there is a fuse for just that door that was blown. Im gonna look at the fuse box in the next day or two

all my comfort access stopped working when the fuse blowed. It started working again when I replaced the fuse... I guess maybe ignition takes more battery juice than the doors? If it's just your door handle it's probably that particular door handle. Other people have had the issue of just a particular component and had to replace that component.

Spoke too soon. No longer working and can't replicate the low battery in key warning even with old battery. Back to looking for possible causes.

I was having issues with mine as well. One key didn't work at all and the other was intermittent. The dealer loaded the latest DME and iDrive software. Now they both work as long as I don't I have my cell with me (iPhone 6+)... Seems to interfere with the signal from the FOB.

Add me to this list. I had a fuel filter sensor and 1 injector replaced last week and once I got the car back CA now does not work. The shop recommended I replace the fob battery which will most likely fix it they said. Replacing battery tonight to see what happens. The shop also said that the work they performed has nothing to do with the CA not working but I am a little skeptical because it is too much of a coincidence. What do you guys think? Is there any possibility they could have screw things up by performing this work?

It turned out to be the battery in the fob. I'm surprised to find that the old battery measured at 2.79v which is not that far off from new 3.00v and that was enough for CA to not work. CA works perfectly every time now.
