Pcv?

Quick question regarding the pcv. Trying to see if mine is in good health...but cannot find anything on it. No guides, no replacement parts, no tests, diy, etc

Is there a way to diagnose it?

What are the major parts for it that are prone to failing? I know it's build into the valve cover, so if I replace the entire valve cover, will that fix any underlying pcv issues?

Just curious because my tech noticed that after a few runs at the drag strip, oil was blowing out from under my oil filler cap that wasn't there the day before...and because the engine is shuttering/hesitating, these could be caused by the pcv according to him.

Any info on this would help.

you need to replace the valve cover itself to refresh the pcv system.

replacing the gasket will only fix your oil leak.

I assume you have a n55?

if you have a strange squeaking noise one day, test it via removing the oil cap.. if sound goes away, put it back on. sound should came back.

if your pcv gets too bad you may end up needing to not only replace your valve cover, but fix your rear main seal! happened to me.
