My 2 year fuel pressure issue and scanning OBD2 on 135i
I've been going into BMW for diagnostics and its been costing me about $160 a pop whenever I get it scanned.
Someone apparently told me that the standard OBD2 scanner doesn't function properly and the dealerships have a special computer they hookup that is able to read and reset additional codes that come up. Is this true? If not, what type of OBD2 scanner do you recommend I buy, and some type of software I can install on my Mac/PC to start reading faulty codes. My main issue on my car has been an ongoing fuel pressure issue that started about 2 years ago and after multiple repairs the same issue keeps coming back. Up to now I've done the following repairs: 5/6 Injectors (Mechanic said the 6th one was fine). High pressure fuel pump High pressure manual fuel pump Low pressure fuel pump Then the High Pressure fuel pump again because it was faulty again Timing belt Water pump As you can see i've done a tremendous amount of repairs on this car and the limp mode with fuel pressure problems just keeps returning. It's cost me tons of money and I just have no clue what it could possibly be at this point. |
