Question about Xhp transmission flash
Hello, im currently considering getting the xhp flash but its price is a little high so i wanna know what im getting before paying for it. I have alpina flash currently installed and my problem is that in 1st gear the car feels kinda weak compared to the power it has (393whp). My question is to anyone who has xhp stage 3 on their cars. If i change from alpina to stage 3 xhp, will i feel the difference in power in 1st gear considering it ups the torque limit?

I really doubt it.
xHP has noticeably faster shift times, and the pre-set shift-points in 'D' mode are much nicer than Alpina. It _is_ an improvement over Alpina, but if you're feeling sore about the cost now, you'll likely feel it wasn't worth the money. It sounds like you've got bigger issues - unless you've got drag radials on the back of your 135i, your biggest problem in 1st gear should be traction. 1st gear is almost universally a write-off for 135i owners as soon as they start modifying. Does it feel like the gearbox is slipping, or like you're not building boost in 1st? What ECU tune (JB4 / MHD) do you have, and are you able to get logs? |

I have cobb accessport v3 with a costume tune. In 1st, the car will barely be able to break traction when i think it should considering it has enough torque. When it enters 2nd, it will suddenly start to break traction with a happy tail. I really dont care about drag racing so having traction isnt necessary. I just want it to feel more powerful when using 1st gear. It opens at around 10psi in 1st gear and 15 psi in second. Its the way this tune works.

The JB4 and MHD tunes certainly let you restrict boost by gear - from what I could find about cobb is it doesn't, but some versions do as an approximation based on speed.
Certainly running 10PSI, you're not getting full power - in fact that sounds like the stock boost level. I'd be looking first at your ECU flash / Tune - you might find it's intentionally restricted / de-tuned in 1st. |

I think it might be the design of the tune itself so it would protect the 1st from getting too much torque and damaging it. Thanks for the help though. I just want it to go sideways in first gear and not in second.
