M-Sport shift knob question
My M-Sport shift knob is worn out and want to get a new one but i only see the ones for 335i manuel.. Is it possible i buy that one with the bottom piece and just snap the knob off the one i bought and put it on the one i have right now? is it even possible to snap the m-sport shit knob i have right now to switch it out with a new one?

There are several of these OEM shifters, probably the most classic is the ZHP weighted shift knob, which can be ordered together with a new matching OEM shift boot, which is probably what I would recommend.
Check ebay, Amazon, and the online BMW parts dealers who give discounts such as Circle BMW. |

I went with the ZHP knob and the alcantara boot - took all of 5 minutes to install
25117896886 - knob (shorter version, weighted) 25110435848 - shift boot You can also separate the Msport knob from the factory boot and leave the boot to rest on the shifter lever and install just the ZHP knob I then swapped out the gray stitching with Blue to match the seats |

Yep, this is an easy one - since yours is still a one piece unit, first disconnect the shifter boot from the console. Put it in neutral and pull up on the bottom of the boot around the console to release it. You can separate the plastic piece and re-use it if you want to buy a fancier boot from Leatherz, etc
Once you get that off, put the shift lever in 2nd and pull straight up - the knob will release I've heard stories of folks pulling up and when it lets go, they end up hitting themselves in the face, might want to keep your head to the side |

The ZHP knob is weighted, however how much difference that makes is really debatable. There is a perforated M-type knob which in my opinion is about as good/desirable as the ZHP. Both of these need to be differentiated from the stock plastic shift knob that shipped with more basic 1-Series cars. Those plastic knobs, with silverish accents, looked like they came from Walmart. I'd advise replacing those stock plastic knobs, as almost anything you put there will be an improvement. |

ECS Tuning has the M Sport performance shifter for the 135i. I just bought one 2 months ago.

Correct. That's the standard M sports 135i shifter bag and knob.
The ZHP(used in the 1M) shifter only costs about $70 from a dealer. bmw p/n 25118051315 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=25_0469 The ZHP shifter was also used in the F10 M5(although it was lit up and around $130) and I think it was first used in the e46 330i ZHP sport model - although in that car it was a 5 speed knob and not a six speed. ZHP shifter installed on my e39 540i... BMW Performance shifter from a 135i installed on my 540i...

I wasn't able to post a link but if you go to ECS tuning and search for BMW 135i parts, search under Genuine BMW Parts. Type in M Perforated shift knob 6- speed. The ECS part number is: ES#47533, Mfg part # 25118037304. It's $197.65 with free shipping. Hope this helps.
