I upgraded the tune on my car to the stroker tune and it was like $300 or something minimal. I would call them. |

I placed a call to them earlier today and left a voice mail for them to call me back on this.

I'm still going to wait till the end of the year till the original warranty runs out ( that's all the Dinan warranty covers)
I think the price will drop dramatically, stage2 for an N54 is only $695 ! |

Just got off the phone with Dinan. No luck for us who already have the tune. Can't purchase just the hardware separately to do our own reflashes. The rep said it's more for the guys who don't have a nearby Dinan dealer to do the flash install. So MightyMouseTech, Dinan is waiting on your order.
I also asked if the hardware is capable of doing any coding work. He said no to that...only for loading the S2 tune. |

So this is now bellow $700.
At this price point, are more of you going to consider this over COBB / MHD / JB4 now? I like my 135i, a lot. And while flashes from MHD are praised I can't help but want to put my money on Dinan as far as reliability and all around improvement with 100% driveability there still. It's 50 state compliant, trusted by BMW and I know I wont get a check engine light when I do hard pulls (not saying everyone has this issue but I've seen it). Dinan tunes control fuel pump speeds, probably very good air-to-fuel ratios that aren't stupid aggressive and other things. Longevity is huge for me, so if playing it safe means I don't make huge number but still make a huge improvement then why not? |

Something to think about for the lucky few of us who have the latest DME version. Our options are limited. It's either the PPK or Dinan for a simple flash tune. JB4 as a piggyback to fool the DME. Or MHD which requires us to pull apart the top portion of our motor to get to the DME, then send it to a place that can do the one time bench flash, wait for it to be sent back, and then reassemble the motor. Notice I didn't mention Cobb because there is no Cobb option for us lucky few.
For me the simplicity of just bringing my car to a Dinan dealer to have them flash my car while I wait along with the reduced cost and known reliability was what clinched it for me. If the MHD dealer network had a program where they would send out a DME already bench flashed with the software with a core charge refunded when we send our original stock units back, then we might have something and I probably would have given this a serious consideration. |

i have cobb and am considering this when it reaches under $500. with cobb you can log and look at gauges...something to consider. my hope is the stage 2 dinan tune will be better than cobb's stage 1+ sport tune. |

Well looks like I won’t be installing this kit. Getbmwparts.com has refunded my money and informed me that Dinan only sells this kit through their website. Unfortunately by the time I received this information the price of the kit has gone back up to $943.50. The roughly $280 price difference is enough to detour me from finishing this project. Just wanted to let everyone know who may be looking at this kit from other retailers.
