All US Spec Option Data
There was a request in another thread to get production numbers for specific option combinations. I was a little curious, so I give you the US and Canada spec option data:
All BMW 1M US/CAN spec options Were you hoping one of the 16 true strippers in the US was in BSM? Sorry, there were 9 built in VO and 7 in AW. None in BSM. Do you have one of the 35 unicorns? (A car with a unique set of options not shared with any other US spec car.) Go check out the Unicorns filter view. Do you want one of the 30 cars built with Navigation but no ZCV? Check out the list. Or maybe you really don't want Nav. There were 197 cars built that way. Are you wondering why 52 cars were built with the extra drink holder, but no Navigation? Me too. My car had 4 other twins. Well now I know. Last edited by analogue; 02-21-2018 at 01:36 PM.. Reason: Updated sheet to include Canada builds |

Thanks for doing this. Any chance to add the Canadian cars? Not only are a lot of North American cars owned by Canadian forum members, there are also a number of originally Canadian cars now living in the USA, such as mine and Nacho's.
Thanks!

I added a sheet with the Canada cars and the options you could get on those. Quite a few more strippers, but then again the standard options in Canada were a bit more generous (Bluetooth, USB, etc.).

analogue Thanks much for doing this. I'm assuming you did this programmatically. Is that correct? If so, any way to include all units globally? I can provide a couple known non-North America VINs and a website where the data is available if so.

Thanks, yes, I got Canadian stripper also but it has bluetooth, heated seats and lighted door handles. My US stripper had none of that.

Think of it this way:
Order Matches: Cars with the same window sticker (how you could order it) Build Matches: Cars with the exact same factory build sheet The biggest reason for the difference is that there were production changes across models in September 2011. (e.g. iPod/USB became 7H9 instead of 6FL) Another inconsistency in the builds is that some cars got the cup holder (442) without having navigation which is something you could never actually order. There were a number of minor changes in the build sheets that were not indicative of how the car was ordered. So I wanted to show how many cars matched based on the customer order vs. how BMW actually built it at the factory. Even though technically the US packages changed as of 09/2011 (Premium Package became Premium Package 2), there were not material differences in what came on the car so I left those grouped together. |

Me too - 2 matches! I do find that hard to believe. I ordered a stripper with only HK radio/bluetoooth upgrade. |

Well sort of . Actually 1 of 3
Just because bmw changes an option code does not make it unique. But still better than my 12/7 rating.

As analogue explains
Order Matches: Cars with the same window sticker (how you could order it) Build Matches: Cars with the exact same factory build sheet The biggest reason for the difference is that there were production changes across models in September 2011. (e.g. iPod/USB became 7H9 instead of 6FL) So your car was 1 of 3 with the exact same window sticker. But due to BMW changing part numbers in September, your build sheet, as in the part numbers that make up your car, is unique. Still really really rare.... Of course, I'm not sure if he counts Euro delivery as a order spec....
