Yeah the car is starting to look better haha. I have a decent amount of automotive experience and will do my best to inspect the car diligently. Thanks for the welcome! Love your username by the way.

Look for the buyer’s guide in the forum, should be easy to find, for the common problem areas for this car. Edit: here ya go https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1285231 You see, the E82 128i platform doesn’t have a long list of problems, that says a lot there mate. |

I really appreciate the link. I read through that buyers guide and several other maintenance threads before starting my search. I agree that the E82 seems like a pretty low maintenance car for what it is. Much better than the E36 or E46, especially in regard to the cooling system.

If it’s a MSport trim, it will have a 135i front and rear bumper

I posted a link to the pictures they sent me also. Not sure if there are any differences between the site and my link though.

I almost like it, but the first thing I did when I bought my car was to ditch the rear headrests.

Fun following this thread. Interesting to see that white M Sport in NY listed for $19,600. He's definitely testing the market's appetite for a 128i 6MT M sport. Great specs and looks to be in great shape.
I bought my 2012 128i 6MT M Sport in May of 2016 for $19,200 with 28,500 miles on it. Similar to the NY car, mine also had the Performance intake. Wild to see a car with very similar specs listed for roughly the same price today as when I purchased mine 4 and a half years ago. But with 40k+ more miles. |

Wow, thanks 413, that car at Bach is a pretty good spec too! And one owner is really nice.
I'm not sure if it is an auto or not. I don't understand that about the VIN decoders, as they say auto, but there is not option shown below for an auto trans, and the pictures on bimmer.work show a manual. Anyone understand this mystery?

This almost looks like algae to me, like it's been sitting for a really long time in the sun and rain. Maybe that explains the headliner?

Thanks Thunder, yeah I mentioned the headliner to the dealer and they said they would "try" to get it repaired. I'm going to use that as a point of negotiation. Probably costs 2-250 to get it done at a reputable shop.
Yeah it's definitely the worst I've seen on this new of a car. I think it's due to heat. All BMWs since the E36 era do this. Seems the headliner base is something like cardboard, then an adhesive, then foam, more adhesive, and the cloth. The foam breaks down and everything falls away. It was terrible on my E36 and still needs to be done on my E46 wagon. Not sure about the dirty trunk jambs. I've never liked how they collect dirt and junk.
