If you are open to it; I would also consider non-sport models if they have the options (or lack of options more importantly) that you are looking for. I wanted an m sport but settled for base model (a manual was a must for me which made the search harder) and put bilsteins, mperformance yellow springs, m3 arms, etc and am very happy with it. My reasoning was at high mileage it will need a suspension refresh anyway. You can add sport seats, steering wheel, shadow line trim etc through eBay. Things like front bumper and headliner are harder but not a bad option I think if you find a suitable car that is otherwise not msport.

Thanks for the feedback... Would consider non-sport for all reasons JohnRA mentioned, also my budget is 8-10k. Can push a bit past for an exceptional reason but would like to keep it there, since i'd need to invest ~8-10k in full suspension and other track ready brass tacks items...
Keeping my eyes peeled... |

You have to check the car out of course, but as a data point I bought my silver 128i Sport Manual with 124k miles from that same seller (Eric T) in June of last year, for $14k. Couldn’t be happier as the body was excellent and the mechanicals too. Eric is a car enthusiast but he was also a pleasure to do business with.

And the absence of the navigation/UI screen in the middle of an otherwise clean dash is a big plus as the car slowly becomes a collectable rather than a daily driver.

It's even easier to check oil-level on an iDrive car. I doubt it weighs much more! And the addressable memory keys are still useful even in a 2023 BMW. |

15 hp difference that you'll never feel. Sport seats can be had for about $500 for the pair. You'll probably do whatever for suspension. |

Leather was always an option, even with sport seats. When the partial-leather became the leather option without fanfare, it was the side panels of the seats and headrest that were vinyl. It took BMW about a decade to admit it.

Does not. Power ends up being the same due to the 3IM, not more. The compression ratio and added emissions equipment hamper the '51. I'm pretty sure if the N51 didn't have the 3IM, it would output less compared to the N52 or else it wouldn't have come with it stock.

+1 there's a plethora of options for suspension depending on your budget so fair statement there.
