Coding for auto to manual trans swap
So my shop has gotten all the physical part of the swap done and it starts and runs. His INPA is having an issue coding right now ( not just on my car but others and he is going to do a reset soon ) He does however have Bimmergeeks ProTool also. Does anyone know if you can program the car to recognize the manual transmission via Protools?
Thanks ! -Ed |

I do not recall the full steps. My friend Mike at Nordkuste did the work. It's been running flawlessly like OEM. Mike is the best he got it coded perfectly. I put 2500 miles on it before putting it away for the winter.

I don't have the full details. Mike at Nordkuste Performance in OH who is a friend of mine did the swap for me. The car runs 100% OEM. I am loving it.

Hey Cosmos, this is very interesting to me and something I'd like to do to my 128i down the road. How was shopping around for a manual trans? What was the hardest part out of everything? Total price?

manual swap
hi, I've just finished a manual swap and mechanically all is fine.help! I've got an e82 (2008). There have been difficulties with the additional wiring of brake and clutch, so I've changged the VO to not needing the clutch for starting.(KPS and KLR disabled)
Problem is no crank! The car is in overall good condition, the starter runs if solenoid is shortened. Most likely I don't have ELV , however there is no lock engaging. VO order coded with Protool and seems to be ok. Faults are in CAS (A0B5) about road speed signal , and in DDE (4DF3) torque trans wrong. Nothing that should trigger no crank. There is a synchronization between CAS and DDE called "reset starter lock" that is showing on Protool but it is not working. When performing the synch it replies "failure" (Ox90). But I received info that this synch is not necessary. What way is there to find systematically the reason for no crank? do you have an idea from your experience? |
