N54 turbo replacement
Hey everybody,
I have a 2010 135i with 54k miles, trusted mechanic says the turbos need to be replaced. ugh. 2ABD/30FF/2D5A codes. Generally, what should I expect in terms of cost for this? The stock turbos and kit is about $2400, but what about the the time/labor costs? No facilities to do this myself, so I'm pretty much looking at this as a necessary cost of keeping the car. thanks in advance for any thoughts. —Bulman |

Thanks a lot, man do I wish that it had been the charge pipe! Smoke test, vacuum hose check, waste gate, all working normally, so end of day it only pointed to the turbos. I agree 54k is crazy for this fail.
Previous owner had installed a jb4 box, drove hard, and maybe didn't change oil often enough, though the compression was perfect. On the flip side it was always garaged, so the chassis is in great condition. |
