My daughters 2008 135i headlight issue

I'm surprised I haven't run across more posts about this. So apparently some 135is suffer from an issue with the rear of the housing melting overtime causing a bulb error on the dash and generally just looking gnarly.

I've tried replacing bulbs and finding a used headlight to replace it with all for her to have the same problem overtime. Just one of those weird BMW quirks I guess but it's annoying (her indicator is blinking rapidly stating the obvious of her having an issue).

I was going to replace her head lights with new OEMs but I don't believe BMW has fixed the issue and I don't want to spend thousands of dollars (or roll the dice buying used again) only for her to have the same problem again in the future.

This leads me to aftermarket options. Anyone have any suggestions? She has factory HIDs. I came across a few posts about bayoptik making headlights for this platform but when I go to their site I really don't see anything on there for her car.

Anyone else who has this model find an aftermarket solution to factory HID equipped 135's and this melting housing thing?
