Yeah I do Walmart for that exact reason. Too much of a hassle shipping used oil back, plus the new oil is cheap and convenient there. A rockauto order every once in a while to restock Wix filters, and this covers my fleet.

GoRomeo
Was this as simple as a drain and fill, turn the wheel back and forth to burp it? My car is probably ready for this at 140k.

---

I popped my mirror glass off and cleaned the motor contacts, slapped some dielectric grease on there. Hoping this fixes my mirror with a mind of its own problem every time I use comfort access to open the car.

Correct, I drained it filled 3 times. Steering wheel feels much smoother and no vibration like I used to get a time when turning. Brake flush is still ij the forecast.

In regards to your mirror you probably due for a new one. I replaced mine I think twice already. Once the pin inside the mirror starts to fail, this is what happens. You can code out the confort access mirrors folding feature if you need to.

Don't know how it works in your neck of the woods, but in California if you sell motor oil you have to accept used oil to recycle regardless of where it was bought. (I'm sure with caveats). I do an FCP or whoever purchase and usually an O'Reilly disposal, since it's just up the street. The lifetime oil thing isn't worth the effort for me.

I’ve done it a few times but the hassle isn’t usually worth it. And I think they know this because it’s a wild concept having a lifetime warranty on oil.

Admired the design of the E82 today. Got a loaner 118 (F40) while the 550 is undergoing inspection.

While it has its place in the market - the thing that came to mind while driving home was that it was a nice 'appliance'.. does not get you motivated to drive. Years ago I had an F20 116 as a loaner and actually quite liked it apart from the exterior design.

Also first time I've ever driven a front wheel drive BMW!

Evening all,

I have been in search of one brake/clutch pad for quite some time.
part #: 35-21-6-771-328 for my manual E91 wagon. I have a new gas pedal (supposedly the last one in stock in the US) and one brake/clutch pad. I know of these as they're on my 135is. Great clean look imo.

There are what seems to be the same three ads on eBay for months. I've ordered from them all and get the same message: "receipt will be delayed with no delivery date specified. Happy to return your payment or await receipt." I waited once for months and finally gave up.

I've tried numerous other sties resulting from Google searches with the same result; not available or wait til they get them which to me seems like they have no way of getting them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Paul

Installed some black kidney grilles with a more modern look from Amazon.

I'm not sure how well they will hold up, I had to bend the tabs a little to make them secure. I will hold on to the factory ones in case I have any issues.

Also ordered some black 3M vinyl tape to wrap the chrome trim around the windows.

That’s a nice improvement in my view. Yes, always keep the original grilles if you can.

Post the work you do on the trim - interested. Mine have seen better days.

I know people hate plasti-dip, but my badges were the last chrome piece on the car and it can easily be removed back to stock.

Just about finished with a little suspension refresh.

Koni SA's on stock springs, M3 tension arms and lower control arms (OEM), HP Auto e90 strut brace, Apex 75mm wheel studs, tie rods/sway bar endlinks (not pictured) and all new hardware, mounts etc.

Sorry these pictures suck...

Nice, that combo should feel really good

Be sure to tweak the toe before heading over to alignment- the M3 arms will bork the toe quite a bit

Thanks, good call! I'd imagine it sets the front toe in without adjusting the tie rods, which tie rods are the very last thing I've yet to do up front to finish.

Yep -
M3 arms are longer, getting you that awesome camber your looking for, so toe in results. Few turns out will get you in the ballpark to drive even if you've never done alignment stuff before. There are lots of posts with the turn count, and you can get pretty close with just a tape measure.

If you have a set of toe plates or speak the alignment by string language you can dial it right in easy peasy.

String alignment for the win. Built a kit with some friends for $300 and split it between us, never have to deal with the hassle of other people messing up my car again. I can do that all by myself!

Camber changes aside, very interested to know how the koni / spring combo works in comparison to stock/stock.

I found a Koni SA thread in the Suspension sub-forum that I will comment on after I have some seat time with these.

I only drove the car a couple hundred miles on the stock setup, so I won't have the best context for a comparison. But I'm guessing (hoping!) this is a big improvement.

As long as my Dinan rear shock mounts arrive as planned before this weekend, I should know soon

Sure saves time as well too!

Don’t mean to sound sarcastic, but how did the price come out to $300 for four blocks of wood, four concrete thin blocks, two poles and two strings?
