feedback wanted on what should i do (scratched front bumper and left headlight)

Hello everyone.

Recently my car was involved in an incident (pic rel)

I checked the ECU, i checked the documentation for vulnerable electronic components and wires behind the bumper and the headlight and i inspected them, everything is fine.

Now i need to figure out what should i do about the scratches themselves.

I don't know anything about bodywork, glass or anything related to paint, cosmetics, restorations...etc, i hope i got my point across.

I also don't know if i should make a claim on my premium (currently paying 1k euro) and pay increased rates going further or should i pay out of my pocket.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Most of that should buff right out. I’d have a detailed have a go at it before deciding on any expensive repairs. Good luck!

it does look deep I think you should get insurance involved or go to a reputable detailer and ask their opinion.

What he said ^. Avoid your insurance company if you can, never make small claims. If Ins decides it's your fault then remember you have your collision deductible to pay. Philosophy in regards to playing the "Insurance Game" is: Always pay the small claims if you can out of your pocket, let the Ins company pay the major claims. In the long run this keep your rates as low as possible plus you won't get into any hot water with your company because underwriting looks at your claim history and decides whether or not to raise your rate or drop you. They typically look at your previous 3 year claim history and decide whether or not you're a good risk or a "claims machine". Hopefully you have an actual agent who provides some insight. If you have a 800 # company and you get a different rep on the phone each time you call well those front line people don't care and won't emphasize on the above. Best of luck!
