Just did a regular tidying up of the wheels, suspension, wheel wells, etc. and wanted to say what a great tool the Milwaukee "M12 FUEL 12V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Stubby 1/2 in. Impact Wrench with Pin Detent (Tool-Only)" is. Effortless removal and installation of wheels, compact, and light weight.

I've got some aging Ridgid stuff I still really like. I notice that 17mm socket with the rubberized exterior, I have one as well, that's another good purchase for this kind of job.

I swap my wheels twice a year for the weather and yeah it's nice to be able to so easily hit the barrels, the nooks and crannies in the caliper, and so on that you can't really do otherwise.

What I really love is the compact size of the Milwaukee. It's barely bigger than its sibling M12 impact driver, yet packs 550 lb-ft of "Nut-Busting" torque and has auto shut-off that limits torque to 15 lb-ft when putting the lug nuts and such back on.

I do this type of clean-up 2 or 3 times a year, but it's not weather related. It only hit freezing here once or twice last winter. Mostly low 40's at night and mid 50's during the day.

They only quoted up to .125" max thickness when I bought them. I'm using .188" thick 5052 H32.

Getting so much closer to getting the rear suspension carrier finished. I'm hoping to paint it next weekend. But even painted, I'm running out of room until I install it and the rest of the suspension.

What subframe bushes are you going to use? I had to remove a stud and push up the tray where the ComBox sits to get the M3 subframe to fit on my E87 with Millway M3 bushes (which raise the subframe 7mm). I would imagine you will have to clip that one stud regardless.

Millway.

Nice tip. I'll keep an eye out for it.
