M performance Widebody Build frankenstein
Just wanted to share my build with everyone. This is the current state of my car halfway done blocking the guide coat. shes a 2008 135i with 110k miles Manual Single hump. FBO. Airlift suspension with M3 front arms. Dinan stage 3 tune. Trying to bring it back to stock because I want to pass smog. The car was space gray. I'll be painting the car BMW Grigio Telesto Pearl in 4-5 weeks in the shop I work part time at. All body work was done at home. Everything is OEM in the front. I wanted a bit more width than the 1m so I ran with KVSperformance rear quarters. I custom molded them because i'm not a fan of exposed bolts. The sideskirts are M performance that I custom widened to meet up with the front and rear fenders. Trunk is still the oem with custom decklid (my version of CSL) Wheels are white faced Work Equip 05 rebuilt by VRwheels 18x9.5 and 18x12 Tires are Flaken azenis 225/40 and 285/35. I got videos and pics of the whole process I'm willing to share if anyone is interested. I.G. @e82_wide1

Nice.
Looks like you have some more space there. 12" is really wide for 285. May I ask why?

Thanks for commenting. Few reasons why I went down in size. I got really paranoid with my meatier setup. I got a set of style 42's that I had rebuilt by wheel flip. 18x10 et15 and 18x11 et15 with Conti 265/35 and 295/30, I wasn't able to lower car as much as i wanted to. So i told myself I will run a little stretch with the other set. This will allow me to take advantage of the Airlift suspension as well. The BBS is a bit too close to the front wheel liner where the Dinan oil cooler is sitting. The 135i oil cooler sits further back so I had to relocate it slightly forward to make some room. The 1m ducts were pushing it back a bit too so i had to trim it down a little.

Originally was going the N5tuner rear over fenders route... But decided to go for a more cleaner approach with KVS. those 19" blitz technospeed are my favorite shoes for the car. and yes, I decided to mold the kvs extension on the side skirts because the body lines didnt really follow the M performance sideskirt. here are some pics of the ugly process of molding. Unfortunately I cannot Air out with the BBS since the wheels are too meaty. But I am able to with the Work Equips since the tires are somewhat stretched. I also am playing with the original side skirts that came with the car. Im working on extending them as well (in case I am in the mood for a more subtle look) If you guys are interested I could just start uploading photos of the body work progress, Let me know.
