2.5 mile usual run, felt good. Upper 50s and some sun, nice running weather.

10:29/mile average pace and 270ms GCT, about normal for me lately.

Had to try and beat the VA heat…headed out at 0415 for a 5 mile run….already 70 degrees lol. 10:08/mile average pace which is slower for me usually, but Max pace was 9:07 so I blame the hills lol

2.5 miles, 10:00/mile pace, felt good. Nice running weather - low 50s, cloudy and no wind.

10 minute mile is a good pace for me, for now. I want to consolidate around that pace, then in a few months try to start shaving some time off. No particular reason other than I have always considered myself on the slow side and at the moment I am making some progress toward getting faster.

2.5 miles, usual route. Felt good. 10:28/mile pace, about the norm for me lately. I have been running once per week at most. Cycling and pickleball have taken up time in the exercise schedule.

271ms GCT which is not great. I get more enjoyment from running during the cooler months and I hope to work on reducing GCT and pacing a little faster in the October-November time frame.

2.8 miles. Good run, and slow! On vacation in Winnipeg and felt store/stiff from the car! lol

Weather was warm and breezy. The run helped me shake off the cramped feeling from hours of driving. Although, I do love to drive!

Took 2 weeks off (traveled to Hawaii) and now back…. Trying to get that first run in is going to be rough lol…. Feel heavy and the heat isn’t helping. Guess this is where discipline kicks in

2.8 mile run in Banff along the Bow River. Good run, amazing scenery. Hopped on the running trail 50m from the hotel.

Slow pace of 11+ minutes/mile. I felt some elevation effect and we have been traveling/moving around, so a little weary from being a roadie. All good!

2.5 mile run in Prince Rupert, BC. Good run.

Temp was mid-60s with sprinkles and some humidity. The streets are a bit hilly which added to the workout.

Saw 4 bald eagles in a 20 minute time span, that was cool!

Running pace and GCT were not great. Good enough for being on vacation and getting a workout.

2.9 mile late afternoon run in Prince George, BC. Good run. We ran in the downtown area around the Lheidli T’enneh park. Nice place to run. Weather was good, 20C with some clouds and light breeze. ~2000 ft elevation was felt!

Tapering for a 68.3 mile trail race with 20,997 feet of gain July 3rd. Last week was 53 miles total with 13,456 feet of elevation gain. Around here here we run up and down the 450 foot hills for training.

Looking forward to running in the Pyrenees in Spain. I'll miss the big 4th of July celebration back home, but doubt I'll miss much. I love the mountains, never been to Spain before but I've hear they are more rugged and rocky than the Alps.

Dealing with a groin pull I have had for a long time. The discomfort comes and goes. At the moment is it uncomfortable in the adductor brevis and adductor longis muscles, to the best of my ability to self-diagnose. In the medial anterior inguinal area where the muscles insert into the pelvis.

I am taking some time off running for now.

I’ve massively fallen off the running wagon in all this heat and humidity.

80ish with 90+ humidity at 0430 in the morning…no thanks. I hate treadmills too, so waiting this weather out. If it were a Spartan race I’d do it, but it’s not so nah….

I hope you get better soon. I haven't seen you on the food threads lately. You are still eating, right?

Anyway I found an old article dating back to 2024 when I ran my last full marathon. I just do Half now.
Of course! Lots of cooking just no time to post about it! Shrimp and grits working on the stove now! Cajun trinity ftw!

I think I have had the groin pull for years, the more frequent running has simply aggravated it. I swam yesterday and biked the day before. Those activities don’t cause discomfort.

Pickleball is borderline OK, so I keep playing! I will use the heat and smoke (merci Canada!) as an excuse to rest more. I like running in the spring and fall, and there is more than enough to do in the summer anyway!

Ran 3.5 this morning…9 min mile pace. But man…running at 0415 really jacks up my morning routine….but I hate evening running because I feel too heavy from the day. Any morning I run I always feel rushed and miss a few steps ….. something has to give lol

How did I miss this thread? You guys are amazing. I've been running again for a little over three years, but until May I never really had a formal program. I do Spartans, Half Marathons and Hyrox. I have only done men's double, and this will be my first solo. My current plan is two strength only days, two metcon/HIIT/Hyrox style group fitness classes and two run only days. I also supplement with yoga, cycling and dynamic assisted stretching on recovery days. I'm a 65 year old man. My run days are one 90 minute zone 2 run, and one threshold run. On the 2 metcon days I always get in another 2ish mile run, and the other day includes a run or rowing-skierg work.

Another Spartan racer? AWESOME. I’m 50 and race them competitively…. Think you’re one group ahead of me. Are you registering for ‘27 races yet?

TBH, I'm a little put off of Spartan recently. I did Austin 10k last year and it was horribly run. I don't have anything booked, but I have a friend who likes the 21k versions, and we've been talking about doing one next year. What are your thoughts?

Once I get through this Hyrox and HM, next year I know I want to do the Manitou Incline and a Sprint Triathlon
