This is just the family jalopy PC in the kitchen. And I've never bothered to learn how to calibrate the MacBook Pro I got a few months ago because Adobe hasn't yet bothered to release Photoshop Elements for Intel Macs, so I'm not yet doing any real editing on that machine.

Drills, I can only imagine the looks on people faces as you were getting undercarriage shots. The efforts are much appreciated however. Really looking forward to the show now.:drinking: |

Awesome shots! thank you very much!!
There is one clarification though. You mention that you can clearly see the solenoid in this pic: If you are talking about that black rubber thing, I have it on my e90 too. It's used to keep the muffler from vibrating the car, and is not a solenoid. There is no wire that goes into it (the one in the pic is the brke line directly behind the vibration damper). The valve on the 2nd tip is generally controlled by a vacuum line, and is on the right tip (looking at the back of the car), and is closer to the chrome cover part. Edit: See part number 8 in this hyperlink. You can also see the actual location of the vacuum actuated valve on the right exhaust tip. |

Needless to say, after seeing it in the flesh and sitting in/around/under it, if it drives as well as it looks and feels... I MUST have one :roundel:

Thank you so much for the photos! Looks GREAT. Love the alu suspension arms. Sedona Red looks very nice in the Top Gear photos with good white balance.
Don't worry about the WB issues, Drillslinger. WB is an annoying fact of life with digital photos. Your photos have been most helpful! This car is looking GREAT!! |

Just a heads-up, we'll be doing the whole "vacation" thing today and driving to Belgium tomorrow, so you probably won' hear much from me until tomorrow night. The friends we're staying at in Belgium will have Wi-Fi so I'll be able to post more pics from there

Thank you Drillslinger!
Now I'm also (ok 99%) sure that this will be my next car. I guess the next date to wait is November 1st, thats the date the car arrives to my local dealer. |

Here's blurb from AutoWeek that chose the 1er as the 'Most Fun' vehicle at the IAA show in Frankfurt. (I'm telling ya when the press goes gaga over this car, the demand'll go up and you know where that bites us . . . in the wallet! ; -)

Here are a couple versions of the 130i rear muffler. Both show the electro-vacuum valve that the 'golf tee mod' refers to. I think the bottom illustration is most like the 135i photo Drillslinger took. The mod, best shown in top illustration, calls for disconnection the vacuum line from the valve, then plugging it and capping the fitting on the metal valve actuator.
