NJ dealers
Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you have any experience with North Jersey dealers. I would like to put a deposit and be put on the list, but I don't know what dealership to go to. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Hi, I'm new to this forum i usually hang out at Bimmerfest. Try Flemington BMW, I've used there service dept and it's top knotch. they are also a Dinan dealer.
I personally have not purchased a car their yet, but my neighbor has and he said he had a great experience. i hope this helps. |

My brother has purchased cars at both JMK and Morristown BMW and has had good experiences at both. He does however like Morristown BMW slightly better for what its worth.

Who did you deal with at Circle? I'm there frequently (service, parts, etc). Just wondering...also you're only on the waiting list for their allocation right? No negotiating on any pricing yet? Correct?

Sorry to hijack, but anyone with experience with Freehold BMW? I work in Freehold, so it's really my local dealership. I had a horrendous experience across the highway at David Michael when I was trying to buy my current car ahead of the sales date, so I'm sort of wary of the area now. But I'd hate to drive out to Long Branch if I can get a similar experience locally, especially knowing there's at least one person ahead of me on the list! Thanks!

As for Circle, my folks bought their first new BMW 22 yrs ago from them. *In general* the Circle guys have been good over the last 2+ decades. There have been some off times, but you can generally count on them. I have dealt with a few guys in sales (hence my question above). Their general customer basis is very good, and they are the only dealer in the area, so they have very healthy margins in general. I don't know if you'll really be able to deal with them; particularly on a 135i. Service and Parts are excellent at Circle (I know a couple guys in both who're VERY good). Personally, I'm still on the fence between a 135i or a 335i coupe. I prefer the looks and feel of the 335i; but I can't get around the ~400+ lbs weight advantage (and thus performance) of the 135i. I *was* going to put a deposit down on the 135i - and I know you can't really go wrong if you really want one - but I'm going to wait a bit until I see it in the flesh. -Chris |

135i unladen EU weight: 1560 kg 335i unladen EU weight: 1655 kg 1655 - 1560 = 95 kg = ~210 lbs http://www.bmw.co.uk EDIT: I screwed up. 335i unladen EU weight w/ manual is 1600 kg. making a difference of 80 lbs. |

US curb 335i: 3571 lbs Estimate for US curb for 135i I've seen: ~3250 lbs ...so that's ~ 300+ lbs. New M3 claims 3650-3700 lbs curb weight estimate...so there's the 400+ lbs difference I was mistakenly thinking of. As for your figures...check out bmw.de, download the 3-coupe catalog. Empty weight EU for 335i is actually 1600 kg. So...what happened to that 55 kg? Options? Do we see BMW playing around (again) with options and specs for the weights? -Chris |

edit: apologies the 335i manual is 1600 kg. so 1600-1560 = 40 kg = 88 lbs. That is actually in line with what i remembered it being. i must have previously selected the wrong 3 series.

The issue is that BMW can 'spec' a base 135i or a fully optioned one to base the weight off of. This can amount to significant differences. For example, power seats vs manual seats can easily add 20-30 lbs per seat in extra weight. ...and we don't know what car with what options BMW actually used for the weights. -Chris |
