I am VERY happy with the pricing!!!
It took me a while to post anything about the pricing. I expected from the get-go that when pricing was released close to half of the people on here will run for the hills. If this car was dirt cheap then it would be on every damn street corner. I mean think about for a sec. Lets say a base 135i was 33k. That would put invoice at 29-30k??? Thats very low. Anyway, imagine what the used car values would be. You would be paying 26-28k for a twin-turbocharged BMW thats only about 2 years old. Something about that sounds very wrong for a luxury car company. Dont get me wrong, the options list is making me re-think what I really need also. My only options will be leather and the sport package. If I MUST get option happy then I would be more inclined to get a 335i or even a 128i. There are plenty of ways to get this car for less than msrp. If you want it, GO GET IT. I know what I want, I know what I like and I am going to get it.
Disclaimer: 2 Fords, 1 VW, and 1 Honda does not make me a fanboy/badgewhore

I agree I was prepared so to say for the price, I thought that for the car its fare and my 135i will come in under 40k which is what i want to spend anyway. Plus I will have a few thousand left over for modifications ...............

That pic is hot, I will be ordering my 135 shortly with AW, black leatherette and sport package. $36,675 MSRP. I don't need all the frills as long as I have the 300hp TT engine.

I had leather in my last 325 BMW and it looked well worn after two years. I'm staying with cloth seats this will give me more money for more accessory's

FWIW, the 328i ZPP is $3,150. The 335i ZPP is less due to the fact that the power seats are standard. So the 135i (w/o power seats standard) has a ZPP MSRP of $3,300.

This is the point!!! The 135i should not be a car that is seen a hundred times a month.
In Germany i pay about 60000 Dollars for the 1er. I want a car special like that and i worked hard for this car. My friends tell me so often, why dont u get a 330i or an Audi A4. The image is much better when u take one of these. But I dont want these cars, i only want the performance and a easy to mod car and perhaps a little bit of luxury. I am happy with this price. Look at an Audi TT, what a performance do u get compared to the 135i? In Germany the base price of the TT 3.2 Coupe is nearly the same as the 135i. I would ever take the bimmer 100:1... Although all the girlies say the TT is so nice... |

Base 135 already has all the elements of a performance car + some luxury in it. Most if not all of the options does not make it faster. I am getting the 6-sp with I-pod, metallic paint and maybe sports pack. I am happy with the price. It will be $37,750 .

Plus does the power seats really offer much over the standard sport seats. They have the same adjustment points correct, they just have more stopping positions maybe, memory, but in the end they do weigh more and how often do adjust the seat if you are the only driver? That also saves $1000. I was planning of getting both of these, but now that I know the cost I just do not know if I can justify them. |

Again this is one those moments when it sucks to be right. Despite arguments that the 135i is a good, maybe even a great, value (and I've made many of these arguments myself) I can't truly say that I will be happy until I drive the little beastie. If it's what I expect, then I'll be more than happy to pay the price of admission. But until that time, I'll hold out on any happiness (other than the fact that I'm VERY happy that BMW finally released the prices). |
