I'm in Parker, just east of Plano, for those from out of the Metroplex and joined this forum today. Lone Star chapter member indeed. We have a 97M3/4purchased new and are close to ordering a 135. The Classic Client Advisor mentioned something about 10 per month this past Monday so even their large volume of sales only allows for 120 ish 1ers per year.
My problem with the 135 may be the seat height. I was really close to hitting my head with the driver's seat all the way down in the 335i coupe we tried out. Also we did not take too well to the suspension on that machine, but are hoping the 135i would feel a bit tighter as far as connection to the road. Our other car is 2007 twin turbo Mini Cooper S which drives like it is on rails. Back to the seat......with the 135i brochure showing 0.5 inches less headroom on the driver side I might be in trouble. I am 6'2" and am concerned I might not fit. The moon roof takes up quite a bit of the roof space, downward into the cabin as compared to my M3's sunroof with no moonroof option. Anybody have a clue if the sport seat sits lower than the power seat? |

I'm in Dallas and looking for recommendations on dealers in the area (specifically Classic on the tollway).
Looking at getting into a 135 but I'm curious to see if I'll fit (6 foot 3) - so a 328/335 is the backup. |

No idea on the room. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm in the same boat at 6'7". I have plenty of room in my E46 right now with .4" more headroom. I also owned an E36 M3 with pretty much identical headroom to the 1er, so I'm hoping I can fit. I'm also worried about legroom though. In the 335i, I actually can't drive with the seat all the way back. Now that's what I like to see! Hopefully the 1 will allow me to push the seat all the way back. I don't care about people being able to sit behind me.

Keller here. Anybody have any dealerships/salesman that you'd recommend? This will be my first luxury car purchase and the process kind of intimidates me. Plus I want to give my business to someone that deserves it.

negotiating for best price
I'm from Houston. Wanted to know if anybody would be intrested in getting a group together to power buy the 135i. We can workout a strategy to negotiate the price off of the MSRP if we walk into a dealer with a commetment to buy 3 or more cars.

As far as pimp factor, Classic BMW is nice. I've only bought used there and had good service. I can't comment on them otherwise. The only new BMW I've bought (so far) was John Roberts in Austin and that dealer no longer exists. |
