Guess it depends on the price, performance, weight....etc.
Love the looks of the SLK, but have a feeling its alot more $$ than the bimmer.

The Merc is a great looking car but has no room to carry anything. We looked at getting one in 2006 but the lack of trunk space killed the deal. We bought the Cayman instead.
If you don't need the space............It would be a tough call.

I drive a slk280 on a regular basis and let me tell you that it is a very fun car to drive. I have the smaller engine but that thing goes and the exhaust note is beautiful. the only downside is that you really need those back seats in the 135i. Also with your top down in the slk you get many stares from onlookers. Although i haven't driven the 135i I would still say the SLK350. Seems like a rocket.

See my Sig
I would be stunned if the MB was anywhere close to a 135i Vert. Hell the 335i vert is 10k more and has 0 trunk space. Oh, and I can open and close my top while doing 30mph< :w00t::w00t::w00t:

I looked at the SLK as a potential replacement for my Z4 last year - no trunk, no deal..
The least expensive model of the SLK series (e.g. the 280) would have cost me $25K (taxes in) more than what I paid for my 128i Cabrio. :eyebulge: $25K will buy a lot of Heineken, eh..

There is a $14K difference in the base MSRP, so if price is a concern then definitely go with the 135i. However is money is no object then test drive them both and pick the one you like better. No one will know which one you like except you.

I considered the MB. I like the way it looks (F1 like), and wouldn't use the convertable option much. But, I prefered the 135 handling more and my dog can go along for rides easier too. The other thing I considered was the maintenence costs. Can't beet BMW there.
