Aussies' First Drive
It would seem that I have the honour of the first Australian addict to drive their own 135i home. i am going to love this car, and will bore you guys to tears over the next few weeks with my thoughts.
Got home at 5.30, and it was dark by the time the kids were put to bed, so proper photos will have to wait a day or two. Immediate Impressions 1/ Engine: You've heard it all. Nothing to add. Brilliant. Can cruise @ 60 in fifth- 1500rpms, through roundabouts, just keeps pulling. Haven't gone over 4000rpm, hit 120 in a flash. (Going to love Alexandra Ave-Eastern Freeway entrance). 2/ Pedals-footwell a little cramped and slightly off centre to seat. Pedals close together and will take getting used to. 3/ Seat has to be set low. I like high driving position, but I end up getting close to roof (note: sunroof taking up some *******, and top of steering wheel cuts off top of instrument display. Will take a bit of fiddling to get right. 4/ Seats comfy. but have a strange "seam" sensation on occasions. Can't explain it. 5/ Love Comfort Access. Wanker is as wanker does  6/ Seat belt is a long reach back. I might have to get used to having the seat a little back and drive with legs more extended. 7/ Love the manual stick, but the CDV might have to go. That's all that comes to mind for now. Will start a new "Aussies' First Drive" post with this as well.

Mine docked at Port Kembla last Saturday. I've already been onto the dealer and apparently a 2-3 week wait from then. I'm really hoping to get it by the end of next week as I have a couple of weekends away in a row...

Dodgy, can I take a guess that you live in templestowe? That rendered brick fence just reminds me so much of the areas around mum and dad's place...around serpells rd/sarah cres...

It isn't the sedona that is available for test drive. It's a SGM like yours! ANd yes, I did take it along Yarra Blvd - something I am very familiar with!
The fence - look closely at your night picture. It's on the left of your car! Lol. One of my computer has a super sharp screen (Macbook Pro with upgraded screen) and it shows every single detail that you can't find on other computers. When I look at that photo on another laptop at home, I can't see the fence as easily. |

I see the fence, heh! And yeah, it looks like one of those Azn palaces out in Templestowe

More thoughts.
NUMBER 1: Cudos for the "getting the seat belt tip" Perfect! Driving position getting more comfortable, gradually. Finding that the best seat position requires more recline than I am used to. The pedals aren't as "close" as they were. getting the clutch travel right and not hitting clutch/brake at same time as much (Cluts!) Still love Comfort Access and Pro Nav. Want to get the Thunder Bulbs for Angel Eyes ASAP There does seem to be a bit of throttle lag. Seems that the first cm or so of pedal travel doesn't elicit a response from the engine. Something that I think will resolve with a subtle change in driving style. Sparkling Graphite DEFINITELY has a purple cast in certain lights. I think it look great, but don't get the SGM if you don't like purple or think it brings your masculinity into question! Engine not quite as LOUD as I was expecting. Mate's R32 sounds a bit better i think. Have not thrown it around, but at lowish speeds, corners like it's on train tracks!

I think you need a new computer! I am using a different computer now (still a high res screen though) and the white rendered brick fence is still there! Left of the car (as in passenger side), not left of the photo.
