Looking for recommendations in Austin
I'm new to the area (just moved to South Austin from Killeen) and I should have my car in about 2-3 weeks. I already saw that Sun Tint was mentioned beforehand but I just wanted to combine all of my questions in one post. I'm looking for recommendations on the following things:
Where do you recommend getting your car's tint installed? Where do you recommend getting your car's clear bra installed? I drive 35 everyday @ about 60 miles a day and I'm pretty sure that a bumper/full hood/mirror job is needed with all the semis/rocks on the route. Where do you recommend getting a radar/laser detector? I know everyone swears by the V1 and escort but instead of just buying online I was looking to support the local shops (I didn't see them at Fry's) as long as they have it at a decent price. Where would you go to wash your car if you didn't have a spicket/hose. Are there any decent do-it-yourself car wash stations and/or decent detailers in town that don't rip you off and/or damage you car? and the most important question... What routes do you enjoy the most? I've been on Spicewood Springs already when I test drove a 330i ZHP... ....great car but I couldn't justify +$32K for a 4 yr old car.... I plan on taking that route again but I know there are other hidden gems out there. If I missed any important questions feel free to hijack the thread. Thanks for the help.

When shopping for tint I looked at both Sun Tint & Sun Busters and ended up choosing Sun Busters.
For the ceramic films Sun Busters was $50 cheaper, included a lifetime no-fault warranty, carried better films and looked a bit more professional. |

I too also went with Sun Busters, their customer service is superb!! The ceramic tint at SunBusters (Pinnacle F1) was ~50-70 less than Sun Tint (Johnson ceramic).

I went with sun tint as they were recommended by the dealership and they did a fantastic job with the carbon tint.
now, to hijack the thread...I could not find any place to install my springs and sway bars so I went on the bmwcca site and poked around until I found a place called Black Forest Werkshop. That place is TOP NOTCH. EXCELLENT customer service and VERY professional. I highly recommend them if you want to do any mods.

Yes I chose Sun Busters too, went with Ceramic tint also. Those guys did it quick and the dealership referred me to them.
