Shannons German Autofest 2008 - Canberra!
Sorry for the short notice, just found out about it myself.
Would be good to see a few 1's there and any others that can make it. It is a good event with all german marques represented, VW/AUDI/MERC and BM of course. There were lots of cars last year, maybe 60, across the different brands with a show and shine event in each. A good chance to look at some nice metal and, if you are keen, Floriade is in full swing as well. http://www.bmwclubact.asn.au/events.html http://www.actmotorclubs.org.au/inde...E6D91DE118FD64 For those interested PM me and I will email you a word copy of the Entry form. (There is a PDF one in the links) |

A few shots from the Autofest, sorry they all seem to have our cars in them.
For those interested we won the A Class Group with the M3 (1000 -10,000km on the odometer)... did I mention it was the only one in class? oh well . My wife was disappointed as her car was too new to compete in the SnS, 48 hours old. It would have been my only competition if it had. Cheers |

It was great to finally put names to faces, Phil d and Yep !
Yep, I will be wary at traffic lights, don't worry  Phil, good luck with your colour choices, hopefully having seen the Coral your decision, either way, has been made that bit easier (it is a real winner with either Black or White exteriors imo) |

Thanks Al, great to meet you and the other half yesterday and loved your cars and I didn't realise Yep you were the guy in the orange t shirt - sorry mate.
I'm pretty much sold on the AW and the coral red but still trying to convince the 'boss'. I spoke to Bill R today and he advised that if we want to get an early 09 build (ie; Jan or Feb) then we'll have to make a snap before the end of Oct so we'll see what happens. Happy driving you guys and look forward to seeing your cars around town. Phil |

Will catch up next time. I had to run had people waiting for me or would have hung around. Should have said gidday. Guy I was with fell in love with the X6 so he looks like getting the ttv8 version. his friend that we met there is going to buy the 135 vert that was there. Im telling you I was talking to a few people and alot are vvvery impressed with the 1'rs both vert and coupe. all liked better than the Audi's. Al's cars looked great eh?
Do some wheeling and dealing with Bill and get a better price. It is achievable no matter what he says. |
