Mystery unplugged cable found
Hi folks,
I just found this cable hanging out from under the rear bench, drivers side. Any idea what it is, or supposed to be? |

That cable is for the trunk monkey to recharge his tazzer gun. Leave it out, otherwise he will not be as effecitve in protecting your car.
It also doubles as a power cord for the bmw portable espresso machine. I was able to negotiate with the dealer to throw it at no cost. Part number 2013-56-0087-301. |

How much did it cost and where does it go? Hmmm Are you able to make espresso while moving? Does it come with a tutorial DVD to watch in the 09? If I get 1, I am going to call it a JoeBar! I have many other questions too... But will hold off... Funny I didn't know the 1's could use the trunk monkey... I was told it only works for 1addicts who were moonlighting... BTW anyone looking for a good 1addict? In Canada we come with a baguette and pies... no g*ns or jimmybar... usually the perp walk has every1 in stitches and all is forgiven. If you want the turbo 1addict they use paintballs made with waterbased paint. Goggles not included. EspressoBoy PS Did you get BMW cups and saucers with it? Hay I just found another use for those roundels...saucers for the espresso cups! Note: Yes I am joking... goggles not included.... Original link found here. |

Wiring looms will most often be exactly the same on all variants of any particular model of vehicle, usually all the extra options wiring will be included in all vehicles, even the base models and only selected options wiring ustilised. I'd say if you pulled apart the dash and centre console, you'd also find unused neccessary wiring there which would be used for any options not fitted to the car. |

So what do I do with the Espresso Machine now then...
EspressoBoy PS I had my PDC located there...passenger side rear seat. I think there is loads of wiring in there. They made a mess of putting the seat back though. So don't try and pull the seat out. Even the dealership didn't do it nice. Still not perfect but I dare not complain again. Sad I know. |

it is used during the PDI process. it's the cable that connects to the battery kill switch. the guy who did the PDI forgot to tuck it under the seat. no use for it.

I prefer pulling on them, but my wife tells me you should tie a knot and cut off the end with a pair of scissors. |

Thank you imdanomite.
I also asked my dealer and they said the same thing. I sure hope there is no risk of it shorting and activating the 'kill switch' when I'm driving. Thanks also for the many other suggestions as to what it may be. The coffee machine idea is a cracker! |

there is no way it can deactivate the battery. the switch itself is turned back into BMW for future PDI's. the other end of the cable can be found in the back, near the battery. that cable is also detached and has no connection whatsoever.
