Recap of known problems to look out for?
Can someone post a recap of common known problems that are causing problems for us? I have heard of the 3rd brake light and the high pressure fuel pump. What else is out there? Thanks.

in my almost 3 months on here those are the main problems, and a clutch return spring squeak which is really rather an annoyance. Other problems are the window regulators freezing up in really cold weather, and condensation i the headlights.

The squeaky clutch is not uncommon on most BMW models from what I've read in some BMW magazines. I had it on my '99 M3 at 16K miles. The dealer lubed it and I didn't have a problem after that, but I did sell it at 52K miles.

Of the 4 BMWs I've owned, only one had a clutch squeak. It was lubed by the dealer nearly 9 years ago and hasn't squeaked since.
In 13,000 miles, my 128i has had zero problems. Tom |
