Fuel Gauge Problems
I have a 08 128i with 3500 miles and noticed that the fuel gauge doesn't show a full tank after filling up - it indicates 3/4 full. Then after a few trips it goes all the way up to "full". Anyone else with this problem?

a lot of previous BMWs had that exact problem. usually a replacement fuel level sender is needed. left or right depending on whichever is faulty. no bulletins concerning this issue for the 1er. take it to the dealer.

This can also be a symptom of 'over filling' at the pump. Are you trying to squeeze the last few drops into the tank? If so, try stopping the fill up at the first auto-stop level and see if that makes the problem go away. This is a known issue with late model BMWs.
