Washing machine....just make sure that you have a good rinse cycle...the one I use has an extra rinse cycle. If you use a dryer make sure NOT to use dryer sheets....just my .02

You can get a specific MF cleaning liquid,
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microf.../prod_209.html I use this and its pretty good. Another thing to do is put some white vinegar in the softener tray part of your washing machine, it makes them really soft and stops them streaking when you use them on glass. |

I recommend washing them on a gentle cycle. You can use a regular detergent or use a microfiber specific product like the
Chemical Guys Microfiber Cleaning Detergent - 16 oz. Do not use any fabric softener and do not over dry the towels. Also store them in a close container like a large Zip Lock Bag or Rubber Maid container. Let me know if you have any other questions. Greg @ DI |

I just threw them in with my regular laundry and they seem fine. I used warm (not hot) water for the wash and rinse and dried them on medium heat (no fabric softener because I never use fabric softener). I guess it may not be the best process but both the laundry and the towels seemed OK. I was more worried about wax getting off the microfibers onto the laundry than lint from the laundry getting on the microfibers. I could see evidence of either potential "bad thing" happening.

Wash all my MF's separately with liquid detergent only, no fabric softener. Powdered detergent may leave detergent crystal residue which is rather like sandpaper to a clearcoat.

I've been wondering about this myself. My wife and I recently moved into a new house and bought a fancy new washer and dryer. I'm afraid of damaging the washing machine more than the towels. Is it safe to run them through the washer with all the various chemicals we get on them? I had been umm, throwing them out and buying new ones (e.g. treating them as single use cloths) :O I know...very bad. Is it safer to just soak them in a wash bucket and air dry?
