Carbon Fiber Wrap

So i wrapped my interior trim this past weekend, and it looked awesome for like 2 days but now the heat inside my car during the day i guess has begun to melt the glue and the vinyl has peeled in some places like the door handles im so pissed... anyone have any experience with this or suggestions? I used 3M heavy duty spray adhesive, its real frustrating since it took a whole day to do and now i feel like it was all for nothing.

im confused. you said you used vinyl, which is like a sticker, which would already have adhesive on it. or is it cf material

The other issue may be surface area. I recommend allowing a good amount of extra fabric to wrap around the back of the trim to better adhere and hold in place.

yea it was the CF fabric, i used the 77 i think... its only really a problem on the door handles, so i can redo that easily, the ash tray was a big PITA i dont know if just the lid can be taken off from that piece, cause if so it would make wrapping that a lot easier... im gonna try and get a higher temp adhesive and try that.

I just got my fabric and since I live in TX the heat is a concern for me as well. Can someone confirm the use of 3M Super 77 vs. 78? Any difference?

i took the door handles off to inspect the issue further... i think i just need a bit more glue since the parts that are peeling don't look like they had sufficient adhesion to begin with. Besides that there hasnt been any issues with bubbling or anything. I think once i fix that the problem will go away. the CF looks sick nasty im really happy with it all things considered

Yeah I just wrapped my stuff a couple weeks ago as well. If the wrap is "peeling" then more than likely there was not enough fabric wrapped. Once you pull it tight with the adhesive it may retract slightly as it dries. I used Duro All-Purpose Spray Adhesive (blue can) with absolutely no problems.

Hey guys another question surrounding the CF wrap... has anyone noticed if their door handles dont seem to fully snap back into place at the bottom... I can't recall if they were like this orignally or not, maybe someone completely stock w/o ever have removing them could take a pic and post for reference. i would greatly appreciate it. THanks

yeah if you have the wrap to long in those areas it bunches up and does look fully flush.
