CSL wheels for Aussie members - register your interest for a Group Buy
Hi all, some of you have seen my post here regarding CSL rims. A couple of distributors from the States have provided information on their CSL replica wheels and more information can be found here for AluFelgen's and here for EAS in their Commercial Sales threads.
I'm not sure which way to go at this stage. AluFelgen's appear to have been specifically manufactured to 1 Series specifiations, and by the looks of the sample images look pretty damn nice. The only issue seems to be when they'll actually be ready for shipment. EAS also look the business, and they have already shipped to many happy US customers. I don't know enough about wheel offsets to know what all the numbers mean, and look forward to the feedback of anyone in the know... If you're keen on participating in a group buy, please register your interest below (along with any feedback/opinions) and we'll hopefully be able to secure some competitive pricing options. Please mention which state you're in also. Given that we're spread out across the country, we'd probably need to do a couple of shipments - one to Sydney and one to Melbourne. A third possibly depending on interest from other states. Pricing will probably depend on how many sets are shipped to each destination. Cheers

I love the performance wheels (313), they show off the disks more, and are easier to clean !!

I imagine so if the value is more than $1000. Maybe if you brought in three wheels at a time the value for each would stay below $1000 Oz...

You should be able to get a Tariff Concession on the wheels. See old post below

Problem with the EAS wheels is that they are 8.5' and 9.5' wide so may require rolling of the gaurds to get them in...

Aren't you concerned that 19s will affect the ride comfort significantly? I mean, the ride is already pretty hard with 18s (although runflats may have a lot to do with that). Won't 19s be heavier also? Combine those factors with lower profile tyres and you've got a pretty uncomfortable ride ahead of you...
Thoughts? Anyone got 19s already? Give us some feedback...

As far as colour goes, it's a personal choice. I prefer the gunmetal to hyperblack and matt black. I don't wanna look too 'boy racer' with black rims... no offence to anyone with black rims - they're just not for me.

With 19's you'd also stand a good chance of damage from potholes on the shitty Australian roads. I actually like the run flats since they tend to take most of the impact when i do hit unavoidable ones.

+ 1 for the Gunmetal looking good, especially on Alpine White.
I've ordered the CSL Gunmetal CS7 set from Alufelgen. The EAS CSL style wheel is also very popular but many members have experienced serious rubbing issues with this setup especially if you plan to lower the car. Basically, our cars can take no wider than an 8 inch up front and a 9 inch in the rear unless you want to do some serious fender modifications. Even so, the offsets are way too aggressive and the wheels will stick out much further than the fender. I would like to recommend Alufelgen as another option because they have promised to make the CSL wheel with the correct offsets but it's been almost a year and we still have not seen a photo of the wheel mounted. It could easily be weeks, months or may not even happen. We really don't know but Alufelgen has told us it's not too far away, but then again they've been saying that for a long time. As for the 19 inch being uncomfortable, I wouldn't imagine it being much worse than stock 18's on run-flat tyres. Last edited by BMW86; 11-03-2009 at 05:12 PM.. |

I've just found the following company called Euro Division who are located in Clayton, Melbourne:
http://www.euro-division.com/index.p...els-18-19.html They also list on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BMW-19-Gunmet...item3ca6de69da I've shot them an email and will let you know once I hear back..

Can give a big thumbs up for Jason at Eurodivision... they are the authorised agent of VMR in Australia and supplied the CSL reps my M coupe and many E46s. Best thing about them is that VMR make the wheel with specific offsets for BMWs- no spacers are required yet the offsets are much better than stock without rubbing using standard suspension setups. They have 1er fitments too

Just need to know if the 19s will fit without rubbing if the car is not lowered. Might check with EAS. Are the VMR wheels the ones that are being sold by EAS? |

What offsets are ideal for 19s without any other mods?
