OEM Roof replacement (Sunroof Delete)

I noticed from "RealOEM.com" the roof replacement.

If I had enough money and even less brain cells, would this work to get rid of the sunroof?

It shows to be about $800-$942 (I don't know which part number is the proper one)

UnitedBMW has them available for purchase.

I would wait for a Carbon Fiber replacement but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

This is under #41 Bodywork and NOT under #54 Sliding Roof / Folding Top

The labor is probably gonna cost you at least another 700bucks easily.
Carbon roof will set you back at least another 1200-1500.

I do all my own installations. Labor wouldn't be a problem. I'm just wondering if this is a direct replacement for the sunroof.

That would be a great mod, at least 30LBS saving in the highest place.

CSL Roof Install

I ditched the sun roof in my M3 with a CSL roof. In addition to the new roof, headliner, and a few CSL bits, I needed to have a B-pillar roof bow welded in. Here's a linkee to some pics.

If you're mechanically inclined and have the tools, I'd rate the job a 7.5 outa 10.

Glad I dont have to worry about this. Everytime I want 30lbs taken out of roof I just drop it.

But seriously, why all this hate for moonroofs. I had one on my old Mountaineer, I loved it. And in the real world does the 30lbs actually make that much of a difference? I have 300lbs on you guys and I still have a lot of fun with this car.
