2.0 update chips avilable from PSI
Just wanted to let everyone know that I will have a limited supply of chips coming tomorrow so anyone who wants them let me know know so I can put one aside for you. The price is $20 shipped to 48 states.
You will also need to get the USB cable for $35. Also the BT scan tool is still higly rec'd since the software is still in beta form and can through codes. As suggested by a smart man below I need to mention that you should have the Gen 3 board to make full use of the 2.0. You can run it on a Gen 2 but you will not be able to make any changes via the softwar interface since you cant hook the USB cable up to the Gen 2 board since it lacks the serial port on the other end of the JB3 box. If you bought your Jb3 new after 7/1/09 you will have a gen 3 board. Also in order to run the software on a Mac you will need to get an emulator. Brad

Well terry decided it can be released for public beta testing. It is still beta though. Not a final version but everyone is loving it and there are some changes that can be made for those at high altitude. I will have them tomorrow it looks like.

Well then 2.0 is not for you then since no matter what you will have to take the cowl off and access the ECU at some point to upgrade to it even if you bought a new Gen 3 unit with 2.0 already installed on it. If you dont want to run the USB cable to it you will be missing out on a lot of 2.0 offers you. You can wait awhile until the final version for high altitude cars comes out and is basically bug free. IT is pretty on the money right now but just wait for the final release.

I've got a capacitor on the way to upgrade from G1 to G2 board, and I'll burn a new chip today. Hopefully by the weekend I'll be at 2.0.
Makes absolutely no sense. The car is for sale, and it already has more HP than I can begin to use on the street (with stock tires, at least) with 1.4, but I'm doing it anyway. The rave reviews broke me down. It's an addiction, or is it an affliction? |

Ya it is a different animal with 2.0. Terry did a lot of work and made some remarkable changes. In my opinion he is the smartest Tuner around. I know some of the other tuner fanboys say different and that is fine. We are all entitled to our opinions...since afterall, they are like assholes Everyone should have at least one right?

Ya you likely have a gen 1 so you can tell by looking at the box and if you do not have the extra smaller serial port on the other end of the JB3 box. you need to get the Gen 3 board through BMS directly.

My bad. You are correct, sir. I was thinking about the tune-ability portion of the upgrade.
