12 000 kms, haven't topped up yet, but oil level indicator shows midway between max & min marks.

I changed oil and filter at 10,000 km - when it was showing not quite to the 'add mark'. I would think topping up at 14,000 km is considered ok. My dealer threw in a bottle of BMW oil - they expected some usage during the breakin period.

It is quite normal to have to top-up oil before the first service. Thereafter, it shouldn't be necessary.
I haven't topped up on my 135i yet, but on the 325i I had before, I topped up at around 14,000km. |

3600 Kms down the road and already the level is down to 3/4 with an initial change done at 1300 km, so thats 2300 kms per 1/4.
Lets hope all it is is that they short filled me at the initial oil service |

Yikes, that does sound fishy. Have you checked for signs of leakage? Unfortunately, a slow leak is very difficult to see without having the car on a lift. The under-tray will trap it for sufficient time for the oil to cake up with dust and grime and prevent it from dripping, except perhaps on a steep incline.

Which dealership did you take it to? There's a service bulletin apparently which explains to the techies how to fix it. Next time yours goes (cos it will), make sure they do that! It's a design fault.. Lots of talk about it on the forums. Gotta book my car in soon and get this amongst a few other problems fixed! |

Ouch... I just spent R1800 having my break light replaced because they refused to do it under warranty. Any reference to the bulletin would be appreciated.

3 mos before 2nd service oil light dinged at the low marker dealer added quart now on high marker - think it may have something to do with avg speed being 85-105mph for 60 mins daily instead of putt-puting around the first year. oil burns more readily at 100mph
brake light is free replacement i'll be replacing again at 2nd service along with brake squeak issue |

Storage compartment also replaced in centre console above radio after PUMA case was opened. It wasn't opening properly.. They put the new "facelift" one in now under motor plan. Now my bloody brakes are squeaking even still after they lubed them up and cleaned them.. Any ideas? They don't wanna do anything more about the squealing now.. Car has done 10 000km.. Says there is nothing they can do basically and shunted it off.. Oh and my power steering pump or something bombed out after collecting the car... Great.. It's back in now.. |
