Summer Tires back on yet??
Anyone switch to summer tires yet. The weather has been fairly warm and i have been thinking of swapping to the new yok s-drives i got over the winter. Doesn't look like we will have anymore snow or at least any that will last.

I started using my 135 with summers on Wednesday last week. Friday, i switched winters for summers on my GTI. Today, it was friggin freezing and rainy - i used the GTI.
My biggest fear with the summers is the low profile and the MA roads are a mess. Watch out for the left lane on 93S from Lawrence through Tewksbury! |

mmm good thought on the roads being a mess. I do have tire wheel insurance already cashed in a flat.
I may just switch them over to the summers. If i have to i will just switch them back.

My plan is to do so as soon as there is another pretty weekend day with some open time. Last weekend (the pretty one, not the rainy one) I took advantage of the weather to drive around topless instead of wasting time on the tires.
Now that the summers are waterlogged in the flooded basement, I need to dry them out and swap them on. amy! |

Funny, I logged on specifically to see if anyone else had put on their summers yet! Guess I'm not alone. I'm thinking this weekend. I can't take the floppy winters anymore! 205/50's. Tho I will miss the improved ride.

I got my 1er last November and went straight to winters. Do you have the OEM Goodyears? If so, how have you found wet traction to be sub 40-45 degrees on your summers? I like and 1's idea ... I could use a day off!

My summers went on last weekend, Friday night before the awesome 70+ Saturday. And then it snowed this morning.
I also tried to install the vert top module and got one headrest bracket off in 5 seconds and the other vexxed me for an hour before I gave up when my maglite died. I could clearly see the clips and had them pulled, but it wouldn't release. This annoys me greatly. amy! |
