You know... I have driven alot at high speeds in my 135i on the Autobahn. I never have noticed any hood wiggle or lift. Then again, I am not looking at the hood at those speeds either! I don't think BMW would have built the car unsafely.

Might be one reason they electronically limit the speed. Not that it would go much faster than 155 MPH without a tune.

Pins are necessary on many carbon fiber hoods at high speeds. Lighter hoods (cf) require less force to lift. Hood pins help prevent your hood lifting up and smashing your windshield/blinding you of whats ahead/potentially causing an accident.
Im no expert, but if I remember correctly carbon fiber is layered. Not positive, but pins may also prevent layer separation. ( if that is in fact an issue). |

Pics painted later today. Will not do pins ( regular driving never above 5 mph of speed limit ). On track will tape any openings around the hood, should prevent lift).
Also, trunk #2 getting painted.... That will hold big APR wing just like Berk technology car). Paint should not cost that much... You should talk to your body shop...... Cheers. And yes, modding is never cheap.... But car nirvana is priceless

#1 That looks like itd be just as secure as the stock hood
#2 Is yours dbl or single carbon fiber? Im thinking bout single for mine specially if im lookin to paint it. #3 Ever any problems with water getting shit wet under the hood? I dont think the vents are over anything that could be harmed #4 How difficult was the install/uninstall? Does it fit perfectly right off the bat? I woulda kept the vents CF color |

Going for the stealthy look... normally run on OEM wheels too ( square set-up, 265s all the way around )

I think the vents should have been left exposed, but since they weren't, I think switching back to clear sidemarkers would flow a lot better.
