If this is in fact an ///M, then I really hope they go old school and call it the "M 135CSi" or at the very least "M 135"
But I think "M 135CSi" sounds way more badass

///M Coupe is more appropriate
The car is a coupe.......and the X5 M-X6 -M5 are also ///M-Turbo so ///M-Turbo would make no sense No M2002 this car is not a Bmw 2002. Far from it Calling this car an M2 would make no sense the rest of the family are 1 series.

I didn't think any of these make sense apart from ///M2 - but don't want to discuss more in this thread as we already have a name thread .

Not for nothing but this 'article' sounds desperate. More like 'Why I really want a M1 and not a 135iS' Although I would be surprised to see a non M with a LSD if they didn't name it the M1. BMW needs to rethink this strategy for the rest of their lineup to be honest.

The M Coupe would avoid the M1 moniker but there's supposed to be an E88 version as well. What will they call that? M Cabriolet? That sounds lame in my opinion.

Look at the recent history with the naming convention of the M. BMW has never used a name twice. If they dont do M1 then it will be called a 1M. It's as simple as that. We had a Z4M, X6M, and X5M. Having a 1M will be fine. They're gonna want to use as little letters as possible. I'm gonna call it an M1 verbally anyway.

I agree 100% with Soutlight, hey, is he a lawyer ?
However, at my Dealer in Johannesburg I was told that M1 or not, there is a 135is comming to South Africa along the lines of the 335is and Z4 35is at end 2010 early 2011. How do you like them apples. |

Im sure BMW will dazzle us with a quad exhaust design appropriate for the setup of the 1 series, if they decide to do it.
If they decided to stick with a single outlet design, it would be understandable, as BMW realizes that an exhaust setup would not deter ///M enthusiasts from purchasing this fine piece of machinery. |

And car sales people are always reputable! I guarantee the members on here know more about what goes on than the dealers do.
