1M Deposit placed!
Placed a deposit recently for the 1M. I’ve been following the progress over the past year. Knowing that there will be limited numbers in the UK it would be worth it
I managed to get the first order with my dealership. Looking forward to placing a final order and specking the car. Fingers crossed CF roof as standard! I’ll be going for Alpine White too. Anyone got an idea what the price will be in £? I wish people would stop hating. |

I held off as long as I could but considering rumours etc I had to put a deposit down too.
For the US Bimmerfile suggested a 126% ratio over the 335i but for the UK that would equate to £43k which I doubt. I am expecting £38k-£40k similar to RS3 and it would be good if Sat Nav is included at that price akin to M3 but who knows. I too would at least like the option for CF roof. |

Local dealer. I suppose that negates any chance of bargaining a discount if there was ever going to be one.
Don't suppose it's possible to put a deposit down with sites like Broadspeed and Drive The Deal. |

I think were just going to have to pay what the asking price is! I dont think anywhere will put a premium on it though. If the US is getting 500 how many will be coming to the UK? My guess is about 150/200. If thats the case and we get delivery on day 1 then we would defo be able to sell on for a nice tidy profit. Not that i would of course. But they will hold their value

I'm in too though my dealer doesn't require a deposit nor do they keep waiting lists or charge over MSRP (at least for me). Buy enough cars from them and you get the VIP treatment.

Did he agree in writing to a price over invoice or MSRP?
Ive heard of many similar stories about "deposits" made on upcoming vehicles. Many of them dont pan out. Prior to the Shelby GT500 being released a couple years ago I went to my Ford dealer, where I purchased new Mustangs from. He took my deposit and told me they're getting 4 of them and 1 is mine. A couple months later he called me telling me they have 2 that came in yeasterday. He then proceeded to tell me their having an auction on the cars with about 40 people who left deposits vieing for the cars! He expected the price to go about 10K over list. I went off on him and got my deposit. The next week I bought my new C6 Corvette. Moral of the story, deposit doesnt always mean you get the car. That said. I hope it works out for you and look forward to your review of the M. |

This car stinks, limited numbers, limited colors, limited transmission, slapped together from pre-existing parts. Sad

For all those placing deposits...
For all of those placing deposits... or thinking about it. Some things to reconsider.
I have nothing really new to say, just stating what has been said. 1. Putting a deposit puts the power in the dealers hand making msrp or msrp + a realistic goal. 2. The numbers "initially" allotted for this car are well within the means for the demand. Meaning, there will be cars. (Z4M being the best example) 3. Do you really think BMW will not sell cars to those who really want it and will pay MSRP or MSRP +? 4. Didn't this happen with all 1 series initially? (I got my 1er in April 2008 and paid less than MSRP (by default, long story) For the Record. So, I guess it boils down to the fact that you are willing to pay for being first. There is a chance that the car will not be available for all, but do we really think that will be the reality since the car is already a niche car. The reality is people are already disregarding the car for several reasons. This site is a small representation of the market anyway. Honestly, I've considered a deposit but figured that patience will be key. disclaimer: people in the UK/non-US markets may have separate issues as I don't have any experience in their specific markets.
