I use .mp3s on flash drives with Album/Song folder structure in FAT32 format plugged into the center console. I choose AUX, not USB, as my audio source. Never had a problem.

Edit: Actually that isn't true. When I first got the car I tried a portable hard drive. Turns out the car's USB only pushes 2.5w and 5v @ 0.5a, so it wouldn't spin.

USB problem is finally solved. Problem was that USB interface was not programmed for my radio. Funny is that USB is still not working with one of my USB keys (It is working with most of them). Now my question is which USB stick should I buy (with at least 4GB *******? I just need one USB stick model that surely works with BMW USB interface.

Thank you all for your help.

Make sure FAT32 is the USB format.. and you use the USB port in the glove box.

Seriously? WTF is #840? Thats way beyond the legal limit of letters allowed in a single word. WTF does that mean?!
840 HOCHGESCHWINDIGKEITSABSTIMMUNG = Increased Top Speed Limiter

When you have option #840 your car will go up to 250 kph (155 mph).
Without it your car is limited to 210 kph (130 mph).

Option #840 is part of the M-sport package.

My personal favorite is:

Bremsflüssigkeit = Brake fluid
