With a proper tune this could be an awesome car but honestly when your paying that much for a "M" model you should be getting the performance to come with it. This is more like an "is" model rather than a M

Take any car out there. Some will love it and some will hate it. Some may like it and wish just a few things were different.

It's actually Sapphire Black, so it is metallic.

Only pissed about one thing. The hood bulge. It would make the car look so much better

If you read my whole post, I believe you did, you'll note I acknowledged people's entitlement to their opinions. I, subjectively, find it worthless to take the time to criticize a car that's been out, officially, for less than 24 hours. There's only been a handful of people, on this forum, that have driven the car. There's been zero negative reviews; yet people feel the need to offer a critique on the car's performance, which they've never driven/seen in person. Again; I'm aware that everyone is able and willing to state their opinions and that some will like and some will not like the car. I just believe there's more constructive ways of stating it.

Well time to put my .02 in this convo. I am actually torn....
1. I love the fact that the suspension is from M Gmbh.... 2. I don't like the hp/tq numbers..will be really hard to go down from my current ~370whp/401lb/ft to those numbers. 3. Don't know if it will be worth it to get another car payment or finish paying off the 135 and then use the rest of the money for extensive suspension/tire upgrades. 4. Ehh...the looks are ok but I honestly still think the look of the original performance bumper follows the lines of the vehicle better. It does not have the "curtain" effect but it DOES have vents for cooling the braking system.... What do you guys think? Should I keep it or get a new one? |

I'm pretty disappointed. I don't think it was worth all of the hype that they created with the teasing. One thing is that it weighs more than the e46 M3, WTF!?!?!?!?
Another is that, I would've liked it more if the engine was made to be more unique to M instead of just using the 335is/Z435is N54. Although I remember Scott saying that this engine would be a hybrid of some sort by integrating the N54 with some other thing to make it have zero lag. I guess the "hybrid" term is what the "free revving" is in the specs sheet. I don't know what that is though, can any one clarify this? |

Adrean, do you honestly think this car has 335hp? That would mean a 135i really has 300hp. I cringe everytime I see people complain about the published hp. Come on folks! It clearly has more than that. Plus, OEM hp for whatever reason is stronger than aftermarket one. I'd bet big money a "335hp" 1M is faster than a car with only a reflash. Even if it is only the "is" motor, it weighs over 200lbs+ less. That is awesome!

2. What benefit is there in "forcing" people to drive a manual, for you, for BMW, or for the world in general 3. I'm pretty sure most of us on this forum know how to drive a manual. Im sorry but comments like the one that user made are frustrating. They also make little sense. Honestly, I dont mean to single technik330 out but i saw that as a prime example. |

b. The is only a 77lb weight difference according to the "visualizer" and only a 24lbs weight difference from my car to the 1M (my car weighs 3320lbs per Roebling Road trackside scales....1M weighs 3296lbs) So once again I say is it really worth the extra 25k I will fork out after trade-in/private sale of my 135i vs. doing extensive suspension mods to my current car? |

BMW sates the 0-60mph in the M3 at 4.7. The fastest its done was 4.1. They almost always overstate the acceleration times. Porsche does it too. The 1M will no doubt be a 12 second car. A 06 Z4M was pulling 13.2sec in the quarter mi.
