Car Beeps after locking?

Is there any way to make it so the 1er will beep when you press lock on your key? Most cars will beep when you press the lock button on your key twice to let you know that you've locked it.

mine beeps when I lock my car. Both from the remote or when I just touch the door.

If you have the factory alarm and iDrive you can configure the car to chirp on lock and unlock. If you have the alarm and do not have iDrive, the dealer will have to program the computer to enable the chirp. If you don't have the alarm, the answer is no.

I have not used it myself but it seems cheaper than an alarm install.

You can set, idrive or no,it to beep/honk through the comp also.

Only if he has the optional alarm.

Thanks for the help.

I just like the fact that I know for sure I locked my car when I am too far away to hear the doors click. Can't leave an unlocked 1er in an LA parking lot, right? Haha.

Mine flashes/ illuminates the lights, silently. I don't have the alarm. Is this the same for others?

Sure you can! First of all you in LA, there are much better vehicles than BMWz.

Mine too.

So I know the car is locked. But then after walking 25 feet away, I forget and go back to check. Somehow, I don't think a honking horn will help that!

My 2010 128i allows me to set the horn to sound when it locks. Check the manual and go thru the computer for setup
