Pics do this car no justice.... it has a very intimidating presence. I may consider buying one for the wife when they come out for the US market, which my SA says wont be until next year April....

Not sure where you are getting your information............ The SA at BMW WELT in Munich said the first run is only for the European market at a limited 300 units per year for the first 2 years to test the market. First year for the Euro market second for US market. I dont know..... maybe a sales rep that works across the street from the factory has his facts wrong

Car is currently available to order here in US. Its even on the bmwusa.com website. You can build your own on their site as well. Here's an article discussing the fact that it is still available as the US allocation has not been spoken for yet. Bimmerfile We should see these cars here in the states in the next month or so. Guess that guy working across the street from the factory is sorely misinformed. Dont be too upset, most BMW SA's are. No matter what country they're in.

I like the car and the price fully loaded came out to just under 50k but still, its a 135 with M accessories, the engine is still the same turbo six with a boost in HP. I'm not sure where they were heading with this but they don't even call it M1 its a 1 series M. Confusing!, great looking none the less but not an M.

I saw it partially revealed in Nov and I liked it a lot. I had a deposit on military sales but since it looks like we wont get any I moved on to the M3 I like that BMW is trying to make some driver's cars. |

If it's not an "M" maybe you should go argue your point to the M division president and see if he will listen to why YOU think it is not an M. I'm sure he will make changes to the 1M, after your talk with him, and replace the M badging on there. |

Ya know!!!! Its not like someone bought an135i, put a front bumper on it, some ZCP wheels and bought an M badge off ebay and slapped it on the rear. The Engine is tuned in Garsching (BMW M division, where all the M engines are assembled). M Division designed ALL the components of the car. Really all it shares with its standard 1 series counterparts is the basic body style. I suppose the the next gen M3 wont be real ///M either since it will also share an I6TT engine
