I assume you leave your under-panel off so you can spot any leaks quickly

Yeah when I'm having an issue and possibly lifting the car on a daily basis.

Incidentally. May have found the actual cause. The thermostat end of the Mickey mouse hose clamp was a smidge loose, with car nice and hot and water pump purge running I fiddled with it and coolant leaked all over.

Tightened it up and couldn't repeat the spillage

On to the steering popping: checked it all over no play in the column, tie rods look fine BUT my steering rack mount bolts were quite loose. Seems I didn't really finish the last job I did here ... Must have gotten distracted by one of the mini-me's

Well .. first time for this in months. Filled last night, two drives and went out during lunch to check. Looks pretty good.

Might be time to detail the engine bay finally!

Previous owner lost a few coins inside the center armrest. Anytime I stepped on the gas, I could hear them rattling. Drove me up the wall. Took me awhile to figure out that’s what it was.

Took the little tray out of the inside but the coins were stuck under the portion you cannot remove. So I took the whole armrest off, tilted and shook it to the side and out popped 3 dimes and 4 Pennies.

No more coin rattling.

Hahaha nah, I don’t mind it. It doesn’t get in the way of my shifting at all. The noise drove me nuts though.

I removed mine within the first month of owning the car. I like to have an arm rest, but the squeaking was unbearable. I actually bought a black foam block in the right width to wedge between the seats, but rarely use it.

Did you do anything to secure the cover to the interior bracket? Mine is a little loose.

I had to order a new bracket that the delete trim fastens to. I believe the part number is 51167135455.

So I actually tried this and it didn't really help. I found stuffing a towel in the console to create resistance closing the lid helped the most, but kind of janky.

Question for you guys... I absolutely love the car in almost every way, except the interior. Looks and function wise, it's great. But I get a fair amount of interior noise (creeks and pops) over rough roads to the point it bothers me.

I was hoping the HP Auto E90 strut bar would help, and maybe it did, but not enough.

I've stuffed foam in quite a few places in the center stack, behind the radio, between the a-pillars and dash, and behind the dash trim, which definitely has helped. I'm also planning on replacing all of the door panel clips and maybe the rear side panels.

Am I being overly critical, or is something others have noticed? For reference, my car is in very good condition and I don't think any of the interior panels have ever been removed. I'd say interior is almost a 10/10 condition wise.

I recall taking mine apart as well. I broke one of the plastic pieces and had to replace it.

I remember a layer of Velcro, the fuzzy "loop" side, with an adhesive backing, being my cure. Could basically see where the plastic shined up and was making the squeaks, and cut some little strips to go there.

Yeah I meant between that and the cover trim. The trim slides down over that bracket but on mine there's nothing to "clip" into.

Squeaks and rattles are best eliminated as mentioned above, felt tape.

Small interior change. Used a black fabric permanent dye pen on the orange threads of my floor mats. No more orange stitching. It just looked out of place to me.

I need to do this! Agreed, the orange is weird in an interior otherwise completely devoid of it. It's almost floormat season for me.

I have been really impressed with the quietness of my interior. I don't think my car has seen a lot of dirt roads, but definitely some crappy surface streets. 145k on it now.

Center console squeaks, but only if you're putting considerable weight on it.

My driver's window still sometimes lets a little air in at freeway speeds. I did the Dackelone fish tank tubing, but I'm wondering if I need to go up one size.

My change for the day is a reversion from IKMOS to a new version of my old IJEOS coding.

The 1M IKMOS just doesn't play well with my nonM SZL, and has some weird baked in throttle map that I can't define that I can't smooth out. Really wreaks havok with my twin disk clutch.

So back to IJEOS. Got things somewhat on target without throttle closures so going to begin fine tuning figuring out PID next few days.

All seems futile as my new turbos from Hydra Performance are almost done!!!
