Will it fit with just Bilstein B8 struts and not coilovers?
Currently, my car has M3 lower control arms and Dinan camber plate and is cambered at around -2.5° with B8 struts and I believe stock springs. I don't mind going with 245 just to make it fit. |

The larger spacer will require additional camber unfortunately, to avoid any issues with rub occurring on the fender side. As mentioned in the article above, camber gained via M3 control arms will not help as you are only moving the bottom portion of the tire/wheel out rather than moving the top of the tire inward away from the fender. The camber gained via the Dinan plates is unfortunately no adequate to prevent fender rub. We recommend running -3 to -4 degrees of camber when used with a 12mm - 18mm spacer. If you are looking to run this fitment, we strongly recommend adding adjustable camber plates as well as a coil-over kit with a slim profile. -Ian

I noticed you said this wouldn't be a limited production so I assume you guys would be listing this spec (17x9j et52) on your website for purchase. So I'm wondering if it's possible to run a different wheel spec in the front while running the 17x9 et52 in the back. I know that wouldn't eliminate the availability to rotate the tires but I just want to know what wheels would you guys recommend for factory style suspension components now you guys have the new 17x9 et52. (Hopefully still be able to have a square setup to combat the understeers) |

The Group Buy has ended already, but the wheels are available on our website if you are still looking for a set.

Looks like it will take a bit more space and subsequently more wheel stud to fit the 245 Hoosiers up front here it is with 17.5mm of spacer just barely not fitting and a little wiggle room with a 22.5. Ordering a 20mm spacer to see how that works. I have 75mm apex studs . I was reading I shouldn't run 20mm spacers with the correct?

What camber plates are people using with these to get to -3 / -4? I was having trouble getting to -3 with Vorschlag camber plates + MCS Coilovers + M3 LCAs. I may be limited because of ride height (have to be able to get it down the driveway and into the garage, without getting stuck!)

They arrived and are installed! And they definitely clear the ST-60 and ST-40 BBK's. Not the best pic but I am really liking how these fit and look and the NT01's appear very aggressive, even compared to the RE-71R's. I like em so much I am keeping the Apex "free advertising" wheel caps on even though I normally only do BMW wheel caps. This was a killer deal on a great set of wheels. Appreciate Apex directly supporting our baby bimmer track cars. Can't wait to try it all out on the 18th!
For those wondering, it's 45# a corner. That's 5# lighter per wheel than my 18" stock wheels with Continentals and I imagine over 10# per wheel lighter than my type 135 wheels with Toyo R1R's (they are out of the house getting mounted and balanced right now, will weigh when I get them back). UPDATE. Confirmed. My type 135 track wheels and tires are 56# (!!). So I've now saved 44# of unsprung weight.

AndyW, looking good. What size tires did you end up going with and spacers?

255/40/17 and 12mm. Wheels are 17x9 ET52 so net ET40 in front. These were offered as a package by Apex. My other wheels/tires combo I have been using for several years are 255/35/18 with a 10mm spacer. They are 18x8.5 ET50. so same net ET40 up front. They will now become my "wet day" wheels with Toyo R1Rs. These will be my "dry day" tires. There is a bit more room in the wheel well with these. My wife noted almost immediately that it will be easier to ratchet strap it down in the trailer due to the extra space above the tire... She is not a fan of ratcheting the car down.

Thanks Andy. Interesting there’s more space. I would think the diameter is similar. You think it’s the tire brand that is freeing up space?
So I have the. 18 x 8.5 et45 arc 8s. Currently on what many would call dragster skinnies at 235/40s. Based on your now wet set up, I can run a 255/35 on an 8.5” wheel, and with a 5mm spacer, get to et40 to make it all fit. Assuming I have similar clearance to my strut. I just finished doing my home alignment last night that put me at 3.5 degrees camber, zero toe so I think the camber should be enough. maxslug , I am running TC kline camber plates and their single action front struts. With a shaven down Komi adjuster to allow me to get the strut inward as far as possible and still allow adjustments, I can get to 3.5 degrees of camber. Also have m3 control arms.

UPDATE: It must be the tire! Math says they are essentially identical, just as you said. https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc...5r18-255-40r17
