if you already have an android device that particular setup would cost: $40 OBDII cable $3 OTG cable $99 flasher module $49 stage II map $49 e30 map $240 and 30-40 minutes of your time if you want the monitoring module so you can see gauges on the device and log runs, it's an additional $69 if you don't have an android device, there are several cheap tablets available online for i think around $50 either way i would highly encourage you to do it yourself, the process is extremely simple and even if you start from scratch the cost would be less than $450

Getting ready to flash my vehicle. Question, did you leave your door open while doing the flash? Thanks.

one thing to make sure not to do is push the key during the process (dumb i know, but without thinking i did that and it turns off the ECU and interrupts the flash). you'll have to start over from the beginning if you do that.

an alternative solution is to pick up a cheap no-name android tablet from amazon, granted you'll have access to a wi-fi hotspot where you're performing the flash installation

The Google Nexus 7 supports OTG and is not too expensive. I got the base base model and it's been solid. I just keep it in my glovebox and pull it out when ready to flash. Works great!

would be wonderful if someone could develop a bluetooth solution capable of supporting the amount/rate of data transmitted with the MHD software. i know there are existing bluetooth OBD devices but don't believe they are compatible. flashing and particuarly gauge monitoring via bluetooth would make for a nice clean cord-free cabin ![]()
