Installed a new door speaker cover. Tabs broke on the old one and it fell out. Looked like shit without it.
BMW Part#: 51-41-6-975-347 $41 Looks so much better.

Washed, clayed, and waxed.
It *really* pops the rock chips in the hood and the scrapes on the front spoiler and also makes it very obvious I need to paint correct, particularly the hood, but I'm so happy to see the LMB all shiny and smooth again. P.S. Yes, I got so excited about claying and waxing that I forgot the wheels <facepalm> |

At least it was the windshield. Our old Volvo V70 was totaled by what looked like a fist size rock getting kicked up by a truck and hitting the driver's side headlight. They couldn't ascertain if there was frame damage, so they totaled it out. Regret we didn't just buy it out: '98 V70 T5 5-speed wagon in bright red. Picked it up new in Sweden and it had enough power to embarrass many a car and surprise almost everybody. |

How many miles on the old windshield? It's kinda nice replacing an old scratched up piece with a nice clear new one...
Just thinking positively!

About 2 weeks ago, I had my car ceramic coated. Then I took it out on my 200 mile round trip commute in No. California where I usually come back with bug splattered windshield and some reason splattered rearview mirrors. To my surprise, there was hardly anything on the car! So far, big fan of the coating!

You should go buy all the rubber that needs replacing around the glass. They will re use it and it is all old and crusty.

no crap? Anytime I've had a windshield replaced, and there have been too many, it's been with all new rubber/seals.... In that regard I don't have a single bitch, quality of the glass used on the other hand.... Ric, I've learned you know what the heck you're talking about, so what the heck batman?

So, today I ordered a set of secondary O2 sensors.
Figured they'd be easier on the wallet then the primary's I just ordered... HA nope. not really. All of 'em are overpriced, yet, for what's out there currently, I still think I got a good deal compared to most sources I looked at! Settled on Pelican for all four sensors- Primaries $127.75 - front pre cat - Bosch 11-78-7-558-055 $154.50 - rear pre cat - Bosch 11-78-7-558-087 -------------- $282.25 Secondaries $145.25 - front post cat - Bosch 11-78-7-545-074 $119.25 - rear post cat - Bosch 11-78-7-545-075 -------------- $264.50 All In - $546.75 yeah, ouch. I really thought the secondaries would be easier on the wallet... Shop around, lots of places are getting $225-250 per sensor currently!

I'm happy with the 17s. When I got my E91, it had 16s and I put 18s on it with run-flats (daily driver so I thought that was a good call). After a few months of pothole explosions that shook fillings loose, I ditched the 18s/run-flats for some 17s (Style 66s) and good ole' regular tires. Much happier. Just say no to run-flats. Never again. And I'm real good with the lower cost of 17s, the lower cost of tires, and that little bit more air cushion.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_6273 They aren't glued in and likely won't get replaced. I'd always ask and see what is getting replaced. Most of the time they cut the glass out, clean up the old urethane, lay new urethane and set the glass in place. Literally glued in place.

Last week was fresh plugs and (finally) got around to the golf tee mod (although I used 3/16" vacuum connector and caps).
Today was a Euro air box & filter, fresh cabin filter (air has been filthy this summer due to fires), and Euro light switch to enable rear fogs. This weekend, I'll be installing an armrest delete. |

In my case, the armrest gets in the way of shifting which is why I always have it tilted up.
