Cleaned the filter again, this is how it looked even with cleaning it a week ago. I also took the tank out and flushed it with warm water. Lots of gunk. California car transplanted to Minnesota so I wonder if it's the type of fluid they use in warm weather states once it gets cold? Or rain x gunk?

Working flawlessly now, put in the new pump too while I was in there.

I was watching a video of an interior refurb on an Alpina B7, which involved removing all the sticky/gooey soft-touch surface from all the interior trim pieces. I have done that on my E91 and was thinking how nice it was that BMW "cheaped out" and didn't use any of that soft-touch on the E82 . . . except for the center console. Mine has bothered me since I brough Little Red home over a year ago, so I decided to do something about it today.

I have a magnetic wireless charger mounted in the forward cup holder and use the rear "cupholder" for random storage so, with the console storage bin/armrest folded down, you only see part of the affected area. Fortunately that area was not too hard to clean without taking the console out of the car. I will get to the unseen rest of it in the spring or summer and will take the console out to do so. For now, though, it looks better. But, I do need to take it out for a test drive on some back roads just to make sure.

The refurbished area:

The unseen still sticky area:

Overall, I'm happy with what I've done so far:

I use bamboo skewers. Ready made.

Looks good, god I hate that soft touch crap. But be careful getting the rest out. I had to take my entire center console section out to get the rest of that crap off. And sadly there is still some in the cupholders.
Two questions...
Was that an M539 restorations video?
Those cocomats?

Yes, it was M539 - he's very entertaining.
Yes, they are cocomats - I have them in both the E82 and E91 and love the old school vibe.

LMK if you are going to part with the old halogens. They'd go great on my 2011 halogen car with tired lenses.

I followed the instructions here (https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=425060) and installed forward cargo hooks and a cargo net to prevent my compact spare from sliding around during <ahem> spirited driving.

(Yes, the bumper is filthy. We've been getting a few atmospheric rivers flowing north in our direction. Also, the trunk could use a hoovering.)

Yesterday I found out 261's don't fit over F30 brakes up front. Clearance to face is the issue.

Studs on order. Spacer already on hand.

If anyone wants to swap out some 261's to make a square set please let me know.

I think I am going four fronts with 245/40-18's. But still looking at fit and such.

I'll probably just end up running them at close to OEM sizes staggered if not.

I've been receiving quite a few M539 videos in my feed too.
Great to watch and learn.

I’m almost disgusted at how clean your car is (figuratively). Especially looking at the brake dust shield although I’m presuming they’re new?

Edit: where did you get your cross drilled rotors from?

Nice.
Did you think about replacing your lines while you had the calipers off?

I just did mine... the OE lines were pretty stiff/aged.

I went with stoptech stainless braided.
I'd go with those or OEM.

I think, so long as the lines are marked DOT, you're good to go.
