Compared to an E82 135i:
8" longer
3.5" wider
3.5" longer wheel base
500 lbs heavier

Power:weight
0.01hp/lb more

God those dashboards are awful.....

I should hope.
E88 is my forever drop-top, but I would like an M2 coupe at some point. Manual tranny only for me.
From BMWBlog: "Despite most customers preferring all-wheel drive, the new 2023 BMW M2 is rear-drive only.

The 2023 BMW M2 with the manual transmission weighs 1710 kilograms (3769 lbs) while the 8-speed auto M2 weighs 1725 kg (3802 lbs). This is the DIN weight. Now if you look at the U.S. market, the curb weight numbers are higher. 3,814 lbs for the M2 with six-speed manual and 3,867 lbs for the 8-speed auto."

The most shocking photo to me is this one: the G87 is on a completely different scale. An E82 would fit completely inside a hollowed-out M2.

Went on a shopping spree. Need to slow down.

1. VRSF downpipe
2. JB4
3. Pass side fender
4. Hood

Thankfully the fender and hood is the same color. Can't wait to get everything installed.

What color? I have alpine white fenders I need to sell if you’d be interested.

Got my ECS trailing arms in with sphericals from Bimmerworld. And...finally got one of the inner camber arm bushings out. Holy hell those things are a nightmare. No heat though, just a combination of local hardware to push them out.

Same reason why I haven’t done it yet lol. The throws are a little long for me even with new bushings and such.

Getting the new ones in will be a bitch. I'm using Superpro bushing for the trailing arm mounts, and trying to install them on the subframe has been a real pain. They keep wanting to go off center when I start driving them in. And with one of them, I didn't realize my driving socket was a little misaligned and now I effed up one of the bushing cups. Don't think it will make a difference. But it's still not quite centered so I gotta fight it some more.
It's windy as all goddamn hell otherwise I would be outside working on it.

I already got the trailing arm bushes in. They were indeed a bitch. I had one start to go off center but fixed it before it messed up. I found the best tool was a ball join clamp (rather than a thread rod) with a 1-1/2 black iron threaded pipe plug. I ground the threads off and got it to a hundredth or so less than the diameter of the actual bushing. You'll see how nicely it fits over the bushing and since it's fully round inside it allows the bushing to stay more straight. Also, dirt cheap!

Also, the camber arm bushings shouldn't be bad. They're two piece poly with no rubber sleeve so they should go in about as easily as my RSBD did.

Never a dull day with an N54. Radiator and upper coolant hose sprang leaks, but they're the original units from 2009, so can't be too mad. Ordered up OEM replacements. Debating if I should do lower hose as well, but it looks good to me, so I'm not sure I want to add that on now.

ResinThirteen where did you get the foam piece for the trim under the steering wheel and how did you install it?

Unfortunately, the foam piece isn't sold separately (as far as I know, so you have to replace the trim panel under the steering wheel.

Here are the part numbers for the different colors for the US market 1-series:

BEIGE 51452997388
ALASKAGRAU 51452997387
SCHWARZ 51459114417

I ended up getting the Euro market one, which has the little cubby, but you'd have to get that from overseas most likely.

Thought about the billet coolant hose flange?

Shifter install actually wasn’t bad.
I’ve been afraid to do the parking brake because I couldn’t figure out how to remove it without damage!

Thanks man but I found the color I needed. Space Gray.

Also added to the list...a steering wheel rewrap.

If you're in the area swap every hose you can reach. Anything from 2009 is living on borrowed time. If you haven't done your water pump and thermostat, I'd do those too.
